Exactly. What are they angry about? The same core of players playing tyree games a week for three months getting us somehow to a cup semi final and then getting outplayed and outfought by a much better, fitter, fresher team? Be frustrated and be disappointed but don't act like a toddler having a tantrum.
If we get the players back and actually have the luxury of proper training, proper recovery and good worthwhile rotation we will win the Europa League. Big ifs but I'll stand by that. We have a very good squad full of very good players, certainly better than the next best squad.
 :cautious:

That was a bit more confrontational than I'd put it, but yes, I do think some context is missing and there's a lot of emotion involved (me too!)

You say those two things like they are interchangeable.

I don't doubt that Keane, Carragher etc say stuff that resonates. Doesn't mean they are accurate, relevant, or either.
Trump and Farage frequently say things that resonate, not sure I'd trust what they are saying though!:LOL:

A massive issue I have last night and points towards the weak mentality across the squad is that the lads were getting bullied and battered from the 1st minute and we committed 8 fouls and had no yellow cards.
Yea I get it ain't the 1990s anymore but come on, you are getting thorn to shreds you try and disrupt them any way you can yet we were so meek we didn't even try and get physical.

I do miss some of the nasty we had in us back in the Poch days - we clearly need some more (fit and available) Argies.

🤣 Yes you're right, sorry. I've just read some posts in this thread and realised it's the hard of thinking just following what TV pundits have said. I was up until 2am watching football then turned it off straight after the final whistle - I'm away at the moment. Jamies Carragher and Rednapp are atrocious people to follow and repeat. Carragher is as thick as a Boxing Day shit and Rednapp was so busy kissing his mirror he lost a woman like Louise - way out of league - because he bored her senseless. They were average players playing at a time when the league was way below average and anything either won was on the back of some wonderfully talented teammates. Neither are intelligent or insightful and any uninformed criticism of Tottenham Hotspur from either should provoke an angry reaction from a Spurs fan - we're the ones living this and feeling this. We know our teams limitations at the moment we don't need to listen to their rubbish and then actually repeat it as fact.

What I have found interesting that nothing has been made off the VVD elbow to Richarlison... He knew what he was doing when he did that... I was in the pub watching whilst playing a pool match, and everyone thought it was a red card offence and could not believe that it was checked... If he was sent off (which he could have been) it would have been a total different game..

The negative side of me thought that perhaps that VAR bottled it because they didn't want the Ref having to declare to the Anfield that VVD was being sent off for foul play..

It was just low enough to cast doubt and no ref gives VVD a red that early at home where there is anything other than 100% certainty.

I'm not saying it was right and you know if Romero did it there would be no hesitation but "The People's Club" would never stoop to dark arts! :cautious:

Whilst it low, elbowing someone across the throat is warrant of red card... Same as when players turn and block you running by turning sideways... That is a red card in rugby because they know the impact it has on the brain.. Like you say if that was the another team / player it would have properly been given which is why VAR is always subjective based on the club you play against... Felt like it was lets let it go because of passed history and wanting the REF to be able to get out at the end of the game.

He did one similar to Bergval later in the game, big sidestep across him and lunging his elbow towards his neck. It's one of those that is very dangerous but never pulled up as it's a pushed elbow rather than a swinging one.

I just feel empty and sad after yesterday. That was not in any shape or form a positive experience.
That coming on top of the weeks and months of bad results, Ange-out, injuries (they´re all Ange´s fault according to pundits and social media), buying or not buying new players ... it´s all so friggin´ tiresome!

I just want us to play good, fun football - more often than not. With players I care about. And a coach that isn´t a complete tit. And a owner that actually cares. Is that too much to ask for?

PS!
Yeah, I know: an owner that cares IS too much to ask for in our modern age. But maybe an owner who fakes it so that I kind of believe it?

Can you imagine that gets done to a Liverpool striker? It would be all over sky news, twitter and the press and there'd be a petition up to present to Parliament.

Because their fans are mental and it would result in so many clicks!

It's only 2 games a week. I heard Kulusevski saying 3 games a week too. I don't know where that comes from but I wonder if the players thinking 3 a week psychologically impacts them. We play the same number as half a dozen others including our opponent last night.

Yeah he's definitely 'in his shell" a bit, so to speak.

There was a moment he did try to day something but spitty mcspittison just shouted the loudest.

It's got to be quite difficult to go into that setting and make your point without Carragher or Neville shouting over you because they are the "main men".

Just the other week Strurridge was trying to explain Alexander-Arnolds situation (because Sturrudge is mates with his agent) but Carragher was scoffing at him and wouldn't let him talk.

Dawson was probably irritated when Carragher said "when do spurs ever win a big game" but didn't have the confidence to speak up and diminish it.

Carragher would definitely so the same if there was a reverse.
I'm just sick of former Spurs players slagging us off. You kind of expect it with nothings like Stephen Kelly and Jamie O'Hara but Dawson should know better. I am hugely disappointed with him and he has no excuses. It's not like he was discussing the game with the intellectual elite. Carragher, and especially Redknapp, know absolutely nothing.

Stephen Kelly is a much better pundit than Dawson and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Jamie O'Hara.
