I think that is a fair observation.

There was a comment about AVB earlier in the thread - that is how we played under AVB at the end - no fight at all.

It's clear that something is not right in the club - but they were still fighting even when down, having lost 3 in a row prior. It probably would have been easier to give up, than it was to find some fight.
Exactly, those AVB defeats is when the manager is kaput, these defeats have just been a lack of quality but the players are fighting for sure.

Chaps, it's glaringly obvious we need to look passed Oliver Skipp. Aim higher.
That's the trouble though we don't seem to "Aim Higher" We seem to buy mostly good players but very few great players. For instance who in our squad would get in Arsenal, City or Liverpool. I don't think any to be honest. Romero and VDV are probably our best two but their positions are well covered in those teams. As I said we don't aim high enough. Our squad is good but never going to win a title and a few tweaks in the summer isn't going to change that. I'm not his biggest fan but Levy has tried to up the stakes a little this year but he's never going to buy a couple of £80 mil plus players and to be honest we would probably waste it on the wrong choices anyway. The fact is we are a sometimes 4 but mostly a 5 or 6th place team and until things change at the top, like new owners then what you see is what you get.

I think the confidence boost of that little second-half comeback today will be carried into the Burnley and City games, we'll get points from both, and everyone can breath a sigh of relief and enjoy the summer after securing 5th/6th place and denying Chelsea. (y)
Taking points off City would be the one thing that would make me #AngeOut

If you think the Chelsea performance was better than today, then you didn’t watch both games. There’s simply no way.

I did watch both games, we were shite in both of them. Turning up when the game was already over today and when Liverpool had taken their foot off the gas shouldn’t mask over the fact we were played off the park, created nothing pre this and were an absolute shambles at the back.

Neither performance was anywhere near good enough.

this is the most concerning thing for me
The only game that I can think of where he was brave was when we lost to Villa at home.

IIRC he played Kulusevski as a No.8 that day.

We should have won that game, wasted a lot of opportunities.

Mostly right. However the Manager has to demand better if he has the ability to do so, not sure if he or the team have that ability though. All has to be better.

Why do Sky focus on Pools two non penalty incidents but not a mention for Gomez head high challenge on BJ

Can we now stop worrying about the possibility of taking points off city to hand arsenal the title

I am fed up of hearing it’s the players fault, it’s anges weird selections and tactics that are the problem the buck stops with him, 1st 10 matches 26 pts (and we were a bit fortunate in a couple of those) next 25 34pts, not good enough
