they've just tweeted that spurs fans have helped raise 20k for their charity.
It's worth pointing out that the money is actually being raised by Spurs fans for Leyton Orient itself, not their charity. The charity element is that we can buy something and set the delivery address as their own stadium, and if you do that, it will be donated to Haven House or given to children currently in Whipps Cross hospital.

It just started as an attempt to get Orient their lost revenue back, but people asked for this charity option if they wanted to help but didn't have any interest in owning an Orient kit/scarf whatever.

Great to see our fans clubbing in to help a smaller club for whom every sale could be vital for survival while they're receiving no gate revenue.

I would actually consider getting a Leyton Orient top to help support them but I just can't bring myself to wear a red football shirt  Same reason I've never bought one for my local team (Salford City)

(I mean technically my most local club is Manchester United but that's not happening)

Yeah, that's my understanding from reading their tweets - shirt sale goes toward the club but we can pay for the shirts to be donated if we want.

However, LOFC have said that every delivery fee (£3 or something) which gets charged automatically, will be donated to setting up the Justin Edinburgh 3 charity, which is a nice touch

Those that are saying we should compensate Orient for TV fees lost should themselves get lost we are not a charity and all these high ideals are fine for some but not for me if the tables were reversed or we were in dire straits financially nobody is going to offer to bail us out and I mean nobody . Its a hard world we live in bit thats the way of things I support Tottenham Hotspur football club not THFC charity .
I struggle to find the finances to pay for my season ticket and I dont want to see the chairman giving it away with some flawed gesture.

The Chairman to whom you refer is on 7million a year,
the Manager is on 13 million a year.
Players from 1/2 a million to 5 million roughly
I think a little bit of spare cash could be found.
If gifted correctly would probably be tax deductible anyway.
Have a go at them first before struggling lower league clubs.
They could probably find 150.000 down the back of the Board Room sofa

So why should they be giving that cash to another football club, instead of hospitals or whatever? In fact, since Spurs will now be on the business of gifting away money, then why not consider some of their die-hard fans too?

Well maybe we should act like we would like to be treated. We’re living in a world where a multitude of small clubs and non league clubs are on the brink of going bust whilst we earn millions from tv revenue. Coughing up this money should be the least we and Prem clubs do, we are approaching a point where the PL clubs are going to need to decide whether to basically bail out so many clubs. It would be a tragedy if once fans are allowed back in, which may not be till March, that basically all that is left is league 1 and above.

So you would like to compensate a club that has been irresponsible on many levels then go ahead but dont do it in my name .

I would agree with this, bit of the comments of the chairman saying if they got offered the test now (or again in this situation) he would refuse has changed my mind.

We know they don't get tested in normal league games, but to say what he has apparently said (not seen/heard it myself) is shocking and feels a slap in the face after paying for the testing and then would have happy now got our players potentially catching the virus.

I've no problem with our gesture because of their fans. Any clubs fans. They, like every other football fan invest a lot of their time and money not to mention emotion into a club that they love unconditionally for their whole lives and if we can help out a club that we've always had a good, if somewhat occasional relationship with, a tiny club that lives on our doorstep then i'm all for it.

Football has become a very mercenary business and it seems to me that a number of clubs could be in very real and imminent danger of going to the wall. If my/our club can help then i'm pleased that there's a will to do so, if if it might ultimately be a futile gesture. Imagine the heartache and pain if it were us. It's always the fans that suffer.

Yeah he seems a tit but I’ve no issue us helping out them, people’s livelihoods and a club with generations of supporters. In the current climate we are lucky to support who we do, I’m really struggling to see how a lot of these clubs are going to survive without help.

This needs regulating - the government should step in and insist all clubs test twice a week.
Any bail out should be conditional on this being met.

The game has got be seen as squeeky clean and responsible. Then pressure can be applied and the argument made that some fans can be safely let back in, especially in areas where there isn't much infection.

If orient had a team ready to play it's not really fair they were prevented from doing so. A team made up of players isolated from the first sqaud could have been cobbled together. They're also right about being punished for accepting tests where others refused offers by Premier League clubs. Yes, their actions for the last game were negligent but that's a seperate issue. The one at hand yesy is whether they had 7 safe players available or not and they say they did.
