He’s not been here for a good few years, but he had a lot of potential, lots of enthusiasm etc. Hope he works out for Blackburn.

Would be surprised if any Spurs fans had anything bad to say about the guy. He's a good lad that fans easily warm to. Not outstanding on the technical side, though he did show glimpses of his potential while at Spurs, but he always showed enthusiasm to get stuck in while others were happy to let the match pass them by. Hope the move works out for him because he's the sort of person you want to see succeed.

I think I can safely say, on behalf of everyone, he touched me.

But in a nice, consensual, mostly non-sexual way. Gotta lotta love for The Holtmeister.

Holtby was a fan favourite, mostly due to his work rate and positive attitude. I was very surprised that he didn't thrive under Poche and become a part of his revolution in the way the likes of Mason did.

As I am following his progress in Germany I for myself don't have a lot of sympathy for Lewis.

When he is at a club he gives most of the time 100% in terms of running, thats great and fine, but he just seems to regress rather than develop tactically.

When he first was told at Hamburg they won't extend his contract he said: Whatever, I am going to fight for the clubs promotion mission until the last second.
On one of the last away games of the season he said a day before the game he doesnt feel like he wants to turn up for the game. Then he was excluded for the rest of the season.

Always big mouth and posing his fists and his heart in front of the fans, then leaves the other day without fighting for his position or caring really for the club it feels.

Might be wrong but somehow not surprising to me that he is joining a championship side.

Always liked him and was gutted/surprised he didn't make it at Spurs.
He seems like a likeable bloke and always came across as a good team player, with a decent amount of ability.
I've no idea what he's been doing since he left us but unless he's fallen off a cliff, he'll do well for you.

Played the game with the enthusiasm of a dog chasing a stick. Liked him a lot and thought he was good to have about the place.

Lots of work rate and can find a good pass. You always know he will give 100% in everything he does, but needed to calm down at times as he was just too frantic.

Hope he does well for you, and I'm sure he will become a fans favourite.

One of those players you always wish can do well for your club but his personality (or attitude) just seems to prove unsuitable for the profession.

My favourite player then.

Thanks all, probably confirmed today after his medical yesterday. I think Bradley Dack and Lewis Holtby could be a midfield force to be reckoned with in our league. Good luck for the season ?

And to you. My brother in law is from Blackburn so they’re one of the teams I look out for these days. Although we still fall out when talking about that League Cup Final...

I think fairly recently on SSN or BT Sport, Tim Sherwood said some pretty bad words about him. Mainly about how he would pump up the crowd showing he cares but in reality doing very little to offer or change anything.

I personally thought Poch would have loved him - a midfield engine who could find a pass and shoot from range. However he was one of the first players shipped out if I remember correctly.

I don't think there has been many positive words on his character, but he actually signed an extension with Hamburg with a significant pay cut when they were relegated, so take that as you will.

I always liked him as a player. Felt he tried to do things when others didn't and actually wanted to succeed here. He came to Spurs at a really bad time for the club where we were playing awful, had a lot of prima donnas and had three managers in one year! I hope he does well at Blackburn - whatever on his potential/ability he seemed like a really nice guy.
