It makes total sense that levy would have wanted to find a buyer and a replacement for eriksen, rather than have him leave on a free next summer. Not sure why this would cause 'conflict'.

Does it though? He can sell in January and still make a profit. And if eriksen doesn’t want to go, you can't really force him. However if he does want to move to better places, he needs to showcase himself, a la Modric.

His price would be half in jan and a replacement would cost more. In jan he can sign a precontract for a foreign club. We are looking at losing £60-70m on him. Ofcourse levy was looking to offload.

Hopefully a miracle happens and he signs a new deal.

In the last six months of his contract he is free to negotiate a free transfer for the end of the season. We are then left with a player who would have no interest in giving his all in case he got a long term injury that spoils his move.

Are you sure about that?

He needs to play because we have the European Championships coming up next summer and he'll need to keep himself fit and sharp for that. Also players tend to play well in their final few months of their contract like Ramsey last season, gave his all for the club and even managed to get himself injured so for the sake of himself it's in his best interests to get his head down and play.

I’m not sure about the “giving his all” part but the contract negotiation part is common knowledge.

Yeah I'm not disagreeing with that, just don't agree with the fact that he'll down tools when it's in his best interests to play well.

Well it’s anyones guess how Eriksen will behave but it’s human nature to protect oneself even if subconsciously.

Daniel Levy is pushing hard to sell Christian Eriksen before the end of the month even though the Tottenham superstar is happy to stay.

My guess is Erickson will still leave in the next couple of weeks...
Pogba to Madrid ,would stop Ericksons preferred destination, and will than probably end up at Athletico.
Levy could have sold him to United if all else failed.
That option has passed now ,im sure Levy would like to balance hes books, Spurs are a business and this is
how it is.
Even if Erickson doesnt attract a suitable offer i am more than happy to keep
him to boost our bigger squad !!
