I think you will find that he speak's fluent English. Don't let a good lie/myth get in the way of the truth eh....

Maybe he fancies the English teacher. Why else would someone who speaks "fluent English" start having English lessons?

I had a business meeting in town today with a guy that I have done business with over a number of years.

Anyway we are both involved in property and after our meeting we started discussing the industry in general and Paul Kemsley's and Daniel Levy's names came up as Rock Investments was mentioned.

To cut a long story short although I have known this guy for years I never knew he was a massive Spurs fan. As we talked it turns out that he knows daniel Levy and has done for years, he also knows another member of the board at Spurs whose name I can't remember. Anyway he has some contacts within the club that he talks to and although he rarely speaks to Levy these days he is certainly pretty well connected and he told me some interesting stuff.

Levy has never been interested in football and only bought the club to make money, i.e. there was no emotional purchase behind the club despite Jou Louis being apparently a big Spurs fan. In fact Louis is only interested in returns and has no emotion in whether we win or lose. He also told me that they would definitely sell out if they got a high enough offer.

Next point is apparently Levy has 2 sons, one of whom is a massive fan of you know who.................that's right, Arsenal.

The next point may interest a few of the people who seem to despise him on this site but the board member with the ambition to drive the club forward and win trophies and have some footballing glory is in fact Kemsley who is apparently a massive fan and totally loves the club. But as reported Kemsley does genuinely think that Jol is crap and has been trying to persuade Levy to get rid of him for 18 months. Kemsley did as was mooted try to get in Harry Redknapp along with Jamie in january and the deal was only halted by Levy saying no as he feared a fans revolt at removing the popular Jol for Redknapp.

He went on to tell me that nobody and he did say nobody on the board rates Jol and they haven't for ages and if it wasn't for the crowd he would have gone a good while back. However they are really stuck now as they can't find anybody of a good enough calibre to replace him with. I asked about Klinsmann and he told me that they felt he would be too much of a risk because of his lack of club experience.

He also said that he didn't really understand what was going on with Comolli and why he was there. But explained that the reason we appointed Arnesen and then Comolli is because Sugar (who is a mate of levy) told Levy when he took over that he should definitely appoint a board member between himself and the manager and this was due to problems between Sugar and Graham.

But the most interesting for me was he really painted a different picture of kemsley than is perceived by the Spurs public. Hestressed that he would be a brilliant chairman and the most outspoken in the league and would do anything in his power to make Spurs successful. He is also apparently really popular in the world that he mixes in and is best friends with not just Mike Ashley but also Phillip Green. He told me he didn't know but felt it was possible that Kemsley would come back with a consortium to buy the club.

The above maybe of interest and for some it may not. For some people they might feel they know all of the above already, but I thought that i would share anyway.

Thanks for this, but it really is just a re-hash of rumour and speculation that has been doing the rounds for the last couple of years. There is nothing in it that hasn't been suggested many times, and doesn't need your confidant to have "known Levy for many years", in fact if he were in any way a friend he would hardly be insulting him by suggesting he is not a Spurs fan, which goes against everything Levy has stated over the last seven years.

Joe Lewis is generally accepted as being not very interested in football as such and any small football allegiance he has is more likely to be directed towards West Ham. (Joe Louis was World Heavyweight Champion in the 1930's and 1940's by the way).

"If it wasn't for the crowd he (Jol) would have gone a while back". Do me a favour! Do you really think that if the Board wanted Jol out and had a suitable replacement lined up that the fans' temporary reaction would have had the slightest effect on their actions? You're very naive if you do.

The whole Redknapp story has been doing the rounds since way beyond last January. It started when Santini was Coach, and Kemsley was seen having a meal with Redknapp Senior and Redknapp Junior and the take on this was that Senior was going to be Manager and Junior was going to be Coach. The story has been dusted off and re-presented every so often since.

The story about Sugar telling his friend Levy (why did he not then remain on the Board?) that he needed a Sporting Director because of Sugar's problems with Graham conveniently disregards the fact that when Graham was Manager, David Pleat was already Director of Football (as had been with Gross and as he remained when Hoddle was Manager, and a lot of us remember the problems that caused.) It also disregards the almost season long review that the Board undertook with Pleat as Caretaker Manager before choosing a more continental structure with the Sporting Director having much more power. This incidentally was amended back to the more unworkable committee structure we have been lumbered with since Arnesen left, which in my view is the source of our current problems.

I suspect your colleague has been winding you up with his "inside knowledge". But, I'll tell you what, why don't you contact your well-connected friend and ask him why Tottenham Hotspur Plc is having an Extraordinary General Meeting on 26th November (rather than the usual AGM). Is something cooking? If so what? If he has this knowledge then his other comments may carry a little more weight. He can even tell you who his other contact on the Board is. But we'll need to know all this before any public announcements are made!

I don't understand? Are you saying there should be an AGM at that time, but they've changed it to an Extraordinary General Meeting instead!? Eek

Kinda just reminds me of the olden days when Sidney Wale & Co ran the business.

Yiddisher Boys, follow the line -Scholar, Sugar,Lewis, Levy et al.

Its a business first and foremost, Scholar was a great fan, just not a great businessman and we got into a lot of bother (Robert Maxwell anyone)

Didn't Alan Sugar's daughter marry David Dein's son ?

I'm not knocking the Jewish connection, don't get me wrong - Arsenal have very similar backgrounds with Dein, Edelman, Fiszman

AGM's are tend to be a little while after the announcement of the Annual Results, and in Tottenham's case are usually late November. Last year's AGM was very late because the Annual Results were announced late, and was in fact in January this year. EGM's are very rare, and even rarer when an AGM would be close, because any special business, possibly special resolutions requiring approval by at least 70% of the shareholders, can be carried out then.

So I'm curious as to the reason for it, as it was merely announced at the end of the Annual Results, with no comment as to why.

I expect he meant that the AGM will go ahead (as it has to) at the usual time. And meant that an EGM is a meeting of the 'members' and completely additional to the AGM, to discuss an urgent issue.

It was just translated by Juande "Fluent Ingles" Ramos.

thanks for this but i don't think D. Levy doesn't know anything about football .. I have been he is long life Spurs fan .. and who doens't know anything about Football, won't make good decisions for many years .. for example, his move to name continental structure with naming ( Arnesen, Santini, Jol ) .. i know Pleat helped a lot with this .. but the man is learning if football never interested him before his arrival.

anyway .. I'm against naming DOF above the manager .. Comolli role should be changed to scouting chief for the best for the club

That was an ex-director's daughter, David Buchler (sp).

Hmmmmm, fair enough. I personally know exactly how AGMs (and EGMs) work, but your post implied we were having an EGM instead of an AGM. I was just checking if you actually had a scooby as to what you were talking about....

I don't like Harry Redknapp. AT ALL!!! That is why I don't like Kemlsey.

I'd seriously consider postponing all sentiment towards Spurs if that muppet became our manager. A supporting sabbatical until he leaves

Read my final paragraph.

I basically said in that that some people would find the post of no interest and were possibly aware of all what was in it but that I felt that the conversation was worth sharing, nothing more and nothing less.

You seem to have got yourself all excited over not a lot really.

One thing's for sure, if no body in the board back Jol then they should have the guts to sack the man, if we stay on this downward spiral that we are currently in we will be playing Colchester next season. If Levy can't handle the pressure he should sell up now.
