The offence some take to the guy even opening his mouth is mad to be honest, along with the idea that anyone is being won over or their opinion changed by anything that gets said in a puff piece like this. How defensive some of you get over people having a different or less vitriolic take on a matter i will just never understand.

The true BSoDL these days are some on here and elsewhere that have daddy issues over the guy every time his name is spoken.

is it just me or has this forum taken a slight nastier , more cynical term since Postecoglu left? See it in the angry responses today but it’s something I’ve noticed. People replying more aggressively.

Anyway to the point in hand. I’ve been ENIC out , since pretty much the start. I’ve never felt he had the football team at heart and I’ve certainly never forgiven him for Stratford. But at my core I want to like the people in charge of Spurs. I don’t like feeling like that the people at our club don’t care about the football team and I’ve felt that way for years.

When talking about ENIC though and the protests that go with it , because I think most of us want change don’t we? I believe you have to take things in somewhat isolation. The cynics of Change for Tottenham always say you will never make them just sell unless you have 4 billion down the back of the sofa. And they have a point. So knowing that they won’t sell , we can hope to encourage them into positive changes.

There is many ways they can do that and absolutely, spending more money on players and specifically their wages is the most important one. But another is the absolutely dire fan engagement .its like they have forgotten they are a football club.

Well since Vinai came in that seems to be changing. The flags, the tifos, the social media stuff and then today. Look it had every hallmark of awkward execs trying to be one of the common people but at least he tried. Levy clearly hates being in the spotlight and he tried to show a human side to himself, did anyone else notice the picture was of the old whl and not the new gaff? That’s deliberate. I think vinai has told him that he needs to reconnect with the supporters and that’s what they’re trying to do. By all means slate him for the failures but there is nothing wrong with offering a little praise when they try to do the right thing.

And look, if we have a shit summer window the protests will start and many of you will mock the people giving up their spare time to make a change , but this is a good start even if the delivery was awkward.

I get the idea he won't back it up with his decisions, but what did you want him to say? Or did you want him to remain silent as some in the fanbase moaned at him for not being in public more?

I'm no fan of his by any means, but he really can't do right whatsoever with some of you. And even if someone has a slightly positive post about him they get laughed at.

He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't at this point.

I think someone may have already posted something similar but sounds like Levy will still be heavily involved with the footballing side of things.

The discourse around Levy is absolutely draining

Interview was absolutely fine. Not everything has to be some meta deep state subconscious shit

Or it could simply be that after 25 years, no one is listening to what he has to say anymore?

“The stadium will be a game changer”…it’s been a shit show most seasons since it’s opened.

“The revenue from the extra events will go into strengthening the team”… six years after the stadium opened and we have the lowest wages to turnover ratio in the league.

I haven’t seen the interview as yet but I think it’s good that they’re communicating with the fans (God knows how horrible the club has been at that historically)

But I’m not surprised that people don’t really want to hear from Levy.

He said that he wants us to win the PL and CL but nothing in his 25 year tenure indicates that he will do what needs to be done to achieve that so it comes off (like the game changer line) as a shallow promise to appease fans who clearly see through it.

Two takeaways:

-Vinai’s fingernails are somewhat Nosferatu-like.

- Given Levy may actually be Nosferatu there’s a good chance Vinai has been bitten by Daniel and therefore is his familiar.

Do with this what you will, but the tongue firmly inserted in Daniel’s anal cavity for the last couple of minutes makes me lean towards this theory verging towards fact.

Regardless of how sincere it is, I'm glad they've done this.

Part of what Ange was alluding to was that the club has projected settling for participation for too long.

He's now gone out on a limb and said he wants to win. Well now it's time to start acting like a chairman that wants to do so.

That requires two things:

1) No more massive PSR headroom, and no more settling for 3rd-5th choice targets.

2) The wage bill (and wages to turnover ratio) has to rise singificantly over the next few years, starting with a bumper deal for Romero to stay on as club captain.

What I will say is that it feels like we are establishing a much better all round team on the football side, from Vinai as CEO to Lange and hopefully the returning Paratici, through to Frank and his team.

Lets see what happens...

Very ambitious statement. Will wait to see what he does in the window.
Exactly this and this is what i've (and everyone else) always said is holding us back and also having been close to it, its even more frustrating. I think he must know there is money coming in or being put aside or else why say all of this as he's making a rod for his own back otherwise. We need top players and not just 1 but at least 3 and we need to pay the wages to match then we can go on a sustained push for what he wants. For all his faults, DL is genuine in wanting us to succeed and thats not all money related and i'm hoping VV finally gives us the internal clarity and professionalism that MC and DC didnt help at all with! Also we need JL or the trust to 'benefact' us with his wealth as that is the number 1 hindrance to us going to the next level now as it has in the past and is more relevant than ever now unless DL knows there are funds coming in or why else mention that we want to win the league?

I took it as one of two things.

This was in someway, a handing of the torch, showing VV as somebody who is going to be more of the face of THFC from this point forward. Levy giving his stamp on him, signifying him stepping back. Maybe because he’s been told to?

Or a Poor explanation on what has transpired that past few weeks, with another new motto/sales pitch. Same old song and dance.

As everybody has stated, we will see if he stands by it. VV seems to have a pulse on the fanbase, which makes me wonder if this video wasn’t his idea. Nonetheless, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Yep, everyone on here can tell you what we need. If he truly believes and wants us to be in with a chance winning the league he can help make that happen now.

The sceptic in me (and history) tells me we'll be scraping the barrel come the end of the transfer window and this is just a PR stunt.

At least he made the effort to address the fans. It'll be a PR disaster if come the end of the window we've just signed some more kids and cheap opportunities.

I would much prefer it if he owned his mistakes, something like...

" I didn't back Ange when he needed help and the club was not in a position to support other managers as much as I would've liked, now we are. I will give support to Frank and give him a team capable of challenging for titles".

"We want to win the PL" is just wind imo

What an absolute pile of shit that video is. It’ll be added to the list of broken promises from every time he tries to reinvent himself. He has shown us who he is for over a quarter of a decade through his actions. His words mean nothing. How long before he’s releasing a statement about having to let VV and TF go but he’s excited about their replacements. As usual, the person who needs to be replaced is still taking in the big bucks.
Yes, it has been over the last 2.5 years for sure, but I think you meant to say quarter of a century here.

that room/background with that photo has been used a load of times before. I think it might be the meeting room there. Whether your right and that it’s been selected for that purpose I’m not sure, but it’s a possibility as clearly a step in a different PR direction.

The really sad thing about this is that I doubt if anyone on here has a single clue about any restrictions banks have put in place re our spending, given the generous terms we have in place on a very substantial loan. In addition Levy has to answer to Joe. When levy attends meetings etc, he wont suggest players we should buy, but he will sate what we can spend on fees and wages. It' the way of the world. If things go tits up, the boo boys will be back, but from what I can see they don't reflect the views of anything like the majority, more like an poorly informed voice crying in a very big wilderness, driven by hate, and a lack of understanding. I've heard and read levy's apologies for not backing Poch during the stadium build, that was a disaster, but waiting to go nuts every time we lose or don't sign a player is juvenile. When Leicester were riding relatively high they spent almost all their revenue on wages, where are they now, where will Villa be if they carry on the same way? There has to be a balance, and Levy needs to find it.

As with all things in life, I will judge him by his actions not words. His body of work suggests this is a PR exercise and I interpreted as a more concerning thing for us. In summary;

Europa cup win has “re-energised” DL, meaning more involvement from him, not necessarily more cash.

All key decisions made together - again doesn’t really suggest a changing of the guard.

I want to win the league - This is the same guy who said “we’ve got our Tottenham back” 10 games into the Ange era, which was far too early to call and was a desperate attempt to play to the galley. This looks and feels the same.

Sorry but unless I see one or two signings (Above a Dom level) I suspect this is a guy who is still buzzing post Europe and who has got a shiny new CEO and manager, thus thinking these people, not significant changes to the wage structure will get us “competing for the premier league” which basically means finishing 3-5th

Finishing 3 to 5 consistently is how you build a base to win the league.

Either way, we need 3+ really good signings this summer. Good doesn’t always mean expensive though

On the league I was mainly questioning levy’s level of ambition, evidence suggests he will put in enough to get top four, but there is another leap between that and league titles. Just look at Liverpool as a prime example of this.

Agree on transfers, again I don’t expect us to
be in £100 million over night, but will we go for bigger wages to get players like Eze etc. These players are out there, will come, but unless they change the revenue to wage ratio the “I want to win the league” is more hoping for a Leicester type situation
