OGS saying that clubs have been talking to Sanchez, another big money signing to add to their list of failures.

In the EFL, Stoke City’s James McClean, Southend United’s Theo Robinson, Bambo Diaby of Barnsley and the sister of the Fulham defender Cyrus Christie were targets of abuse based on discrimination

Yes I am sure these clubs have hugely global fan bases, a very strange flex indeed - almost as strange as flexing that it must be foreigners in other countries abusing foreigners in this country, I think I'm going to have to have a little think about that one. But anyway I'm sure you have far more extensive experience about these matters than I do.

Its your argument that this person on Twitter that could be from England or could be from literally anywhere else in the world shows that England is no better than Italy regarding racism.

I don't think anyone is denying that Racism exists in England but I would like to think there is a big effort to try and eradicate it.

I think you're being (very) naive about how globally supported EFL teams are (especially considering 2 of the three were PL teams very recently).

It's wild conjecture to explicitly imply that the UK has a problem with racism based on 'Tweets'. The UK represents less than 0.9% of the world population, whereas the product (EFL and PL) has a global reach that represents a large proportion of global football viewing (the EFL is one of the most popular leagues, behind the PL of course, for International viewing figures).

That isn't any denial of an issue, but your premise is ridiculous.

Also...

Ironically, only one of the 4 names you listed are "foreigners".

Goldbridge with a proper rant tonight on United stand :hungry:
"the best bit about this... and I'm being highly sarcastic here..."

He comes across as a properly smug twat a lot of the time but that video was great.

I heard someone on TalkSport the other day in relation to an incident question why players don’t just take themselves off social media.
Must admit I totally agree, if I was in let’s say Rashford’s position what harm would it do me if I just said bollox to it I’ll cancel my account, I know I would!

The point is it shouldn't come to that. If every athlete took that approach, the bigots would win. We should live in a world where there aren't a horde of shitheads that spew racist bullshit on a public platform. Optimistic/rainbows and butterflies viewpoint, I know. But, in my opinion if you hold those beliefs, or make those comments, you should be fired into the sun.

Also there are sponsorships to take into consideration. Salah deactivated his Twitter (I think) last year and weirdly reactivated it a while later just to post some ad for DHL (again, I think).

They’d lose sponsorship revenue. Just their presence on SM means that the sponsors products get seen by millions of us plebs.

The likes of twitter don’t do enough to root the behaviour out. If SC can perma-ban racists then they can. Yes, people can use vpn etc to get around IP bans, but Twitter have enough money to employ an army of mods and bots to at least make a fucking effort.

Lingard getting hammered by his own fans.

3 games in and the wheels have fallen off already.

Lingard was 113th of midfielders (not overall, just midfielders) in the PL for chances created last season. He only produced goals or assists in December (4+2) and did nothing, no goals or assists, in any other calendar month last season.

Norwegian TV did a pre-match analysis on Lingard and the panel was in unison that he simply is not good enough for where they want to be. And then he had an absolute stinker yesterday to boot.

That he's in a Manchester United starting XI is a damning indictment of both the rest of the squad and the club as a whole.

Ole backing lingard but his last sentence suggests he is losing patience.

"Jesse has not scored any goals in our last three games, no. ‘But he’s been a big part of our team and he’ll keep continuing to be an important part.

‘The energy he gives us, he’s lively. ‘But we felt Mason had to come on and create something and we’ll see Mason more often, definitely.’"

Hasn't scored in the last three games? Bloody hell, more like he hasn't scored since Ole's third game in charge!
