I think it was Crouchy, but in whoevers-book-it-was they said that he would split the team into two to do training - attackers and defenders - and the two groups were called something like "salt" and "pepper" and the defenders would only be coached on heading, tackling, and booting the ball away, and attackers on attacking - no overall team cohesion or team practice sessions. Something like that.

I'm going off memory, but I had assumed he'd be more of a modern/expansive coach due to being a Redknapp protege, but it made him sound like the kind of dinosaur people incorrectly accuse BFS of being.
It was Crouchy. He said it in his podcast too, that Pulis would split the team for training into the fancy Dan's and the water carriers.
Can't remember the exact terms Crouchy used but like the rest of his pods, it was very funny.

Airing their dirty laundry again:

"Club sources said the decision to sign Roberto as back-up to Fabianski was solely down to Pellegrini and his trusted ally Mario Husillos, who was appointed on a three-year deal around the same time as the Chilean."

Admittedly, it did seem charitable to give a Spanish fan so much playing time.

"I think everyone who follows football knows the importance of this club, so I'm really excited," Roberto said when joining, desperately trying to stifle his laughter.

I have to say that the West Ham fans on KUMB do a nice little line in black humour. It's all the practice they've had, I guess.

Hammer 1: He'll play 3 at the back, which we are perfectly set up for now in terms of our squad.

Hammer 2: You mean 9 at the back?

Hammer 3: With the way we play at the moment, it wouldn't hurt...

Hammer 4: With the way we’re playing at the moment I doubt it’d make a difference...

:joyful:

I don't remember that at all.
Had a quick search in thread around the time they were moving into the stadium and couldn't findmany on here seeing them as competition.

Only this:

You're deluded if you don't think they are not a major threat in the next 5 years. They're going to have big spending power and a stadium with amazing transport links to attract new fans and corporates.

In danielneeds defence he made the post in 2015 so West Ham still have 6 months to become a major threat.

They didn't sack him last time. Same with Allardyce; their contracts simply expired and they were replaced with their next fantasy punts (Billic and Pellegrini respectively)
My comment still is appropriate. They thought he wasn't good enough so they didn't renew his contract. Why is he now good enough again to be their manager.

There were allegations of dodgy dealings with the signing of a 2m player (Hugill) for 10m
Moyes's brother was an agent and involved.

To be fair, it’s been incredibly hard to be as incompetent as their leadership is, but they’ve managed it somehow! Lol.

We've all made predictions that turned out to be wrong. I thought more here saw West Ham as a potential threat when they moved into the new stadium. If they did, I couldn't find the posts.

only west ham would get rid of a decent manager in Pellegrini and bring in moyes of all people

Is that fair?

Moyes took over a team in the relegation zone and got them to safety. He is then replaced by a manager who spends a fortune and is sacked when they are just above the relegation zone. It says something that he's again having to clear up a mess left by more popular managers.

It's an interesting one.

According to that site Moyes had a win percentage of 29.03%. This is worse than Pellegrini, Bilic, Allardyce and Grant. The last manager with a worse record was Zola.

According to that site Zola and Moyes have the worse win percentage records in the club's history. From the managers who have managed the club for over 30 games Pellegrini has the 2nd best record.

As long as West Ham think they are a big club they will continue to fail.
