Didn't they also sign the son of one of their ex-players in the summer?

Edit - David Martin, son of Alvin. Signed on a free from Millwall. It looks like he was at MK Dons with Dele.

Yes and he was finished then no idea how he got a contract at millwall after let alone a premier league move after that.

Yes, and I think David Martin was with us as a Yoof, but as an outfield player!

You may recall that David Gold has had some unfortunate issues concerning his players on Twitter.

There was that time he failed to recognise a picture of Michail Antonio and retweeted his picture as a plea to find a missing person.

More embarrassingly, there was the time he welcomed the signing of Pedro Obiang with a picture of Angelo Ogbonna. :cautious:

Now there's not much he can do about the first. He's always being asked to retweet random stuff and he's bound to let the odd mistake through, although the number of times it's involved that guy from the Inbetweeners is slightly concerning.

But how to avoid the second issue?

Well, clever old David has found a way. He only tweets photos of his players holding up their shirts now. So, today, on the occasion of Ryan Fredericks' 27th birthday, and yes that made me feel old too, he tweeted his congratulations and successfully posted a picture of the right player. Well done, David. No fuck-ups for you, today.

Well, apart from linking to the Ryan Fredericks who tweets bible verses in Arizona rather than the Ryan Fredericks who plays for West Ham. But, that apart, well done. nwn.

It’s funny, and it’s West Ham so fuck ‘em, but somehow I’ve developed a soft spot for the ignorant porn-peddler. I think he tries to do the right thing, it’s just that he’s not very good at it.

Of the two he’s miles more likeable and apparently he’s a much nicer bloke than the little goblin looking thing that had Brady as a side piece for years

He's a bit like GW Bush for me - I get the feeling I'm supposed to hate him and think he's a bad guy, but every time I see him interacting with the world, I can't helo but see him as a bit of an Of Mice And Men 'Lenny' character.
Gold is obviously not very smart at all, but comes across as well meaning and good hearted

That’s a good comparison. GW was a pawn in a game of incredible evil, but he’s probably a nice enough guy if you met him down the pub.

There’s been a few tweets from Gold where I just think ‘aw, mate...’. He’s definitely the good guy in comparison to Sullivan and Brady.

West Ham have got their transfer window off to a flyer.

A couple of days ago, they let their Spanish reserve keeper go on a free. That's fair enough. Sometimes you need to freshen things up. Yes, Adrian has extensive Premier League experience, and has put in some decent performances over the years, but he's 32 now and didn't play a single league game last season.

So who have West Ham brought in to freshen things up?

A keeper with experience of the Premier League? Err, no.

A fresh, young foreign talent then? Err, no, Roberto is 33, a year older than Adrian :oldman:

A keeper with recent first-team experience then? Err, no. He spent last season on Espanyol's bench.

But he must have some first-team La Liga experience? Yes, he came bottom with Malaga in 2017-18. :p

OK, but before that, any other first-team La Liga experience? Yes, he came bottom with Real Zaragoza in 2012-13.

So why on earth would they want him? He's free. :greedy:

But what happens if Fabianski gets injured? We all laugh at West Ham. Again. :ROFLMAO:

"I think everyone who follows football knows the importance of this club, so I'm really excited," Roberto said, thereby showing that (a) either he doesn't follow football, (b) he's been sold a pup or (c) someone mistranslated the word 'importance' from the original Spanish.

I'm going for (c).

Back in May, I questioned the quality of West Ham's new reserve keeper.

Still, it's easy to manipulate a few stats and make a player look worse than he is, so, now he's played a few times for West Ham, what do their fans think?

Oh dear.

:D

Edit: And this was before he threw one in his own net...

:joyful:

It's ok though, he's well primed to have a worldy in his next game, even Martin would be almost guaranteed a clean sheet!
