"It did not take long for some people at West Ham to develop doubts about the wisdom of signing Jack Wilshere. The misplaced early optimism soon ebbed away and the grumbling began midway through last season, with the mood summed up by one figure muttering about how long was left on Wilshere’s contract and wondering whether West Ham should think about finding a way to part company with a player on a three-year deal worth close to £100,000 a week."

Proper hatchet job on Jack.

Crafty enough to bag a last £15 mill roll of the dice contract at West Ham's rehab asylum.

So Lanzini thinks beating us was the highlight of his Spammer career.

"The game against Tottenham, where we won 1-0 – and I scored the goal,” he said, when asked for the best moment in his West Ham career. “It was a Friday night and Tottenham were fighting for the Premier League title.

“We didn’t play very well during the game, but the fans and the atmosphere were crazy, helped us, and we won – it was magical.”

What a bell end.

From Lawro's PL prediction page on BBC...

"The Hammers will be fine but it will take some time. New signing Jack Wilshere has spent so long on the sidelines through injury and he doesn't look up to it yet. "

I know he didn't play much last season but when does a new signing stop being a new signing? o_O

Lawro once again proving the BBC need to cut him loose.

When he's had a season under his belt. For jack that will probably be by 2026.

So many questions, not least why are they selling their only backup striker?

They signed some Swiss lad from Basel in the summer too.

It will be interesting what they do if Haller is injured/rested. None of their other forwards can really lead the line (Antonio, Yarmolenko etc...). Risky though to sell/release Hernandez, Perez, Arnautovic and Carroll(lol) all in one window.
