You know when articles read not only like they've come from some two-bit stepney plonker, but that they've insisted that it gets written so verbatim that it looks completely ridiculous..

SSN:

"WEST HAM DISMISS REPORTS OF RICE BID FROM CHELSEA

West Ham
have dismissed reports that they have received a £50m bid from Chelsea for Declan Rice.

Rice is not for sale, any £50m bid would be laughed off and West Ham hope the midfielder stays at the club for many years.

Rice has a long-term contract which runs out in 2024 and West Ham have the option of extending it by another year.

Rice will return to the club on Monday for preseason training with the rest of his teammates. "

Like they would seriously 'laugh off' someone paying that much for him.

:ROFLMAO:

Trevor Sinclair made a right fool of himself on TS today, saying with the right signings they could get Europa next season....

What is it with that lot. Their fans, ex-players are all utterly deluded.

Agreed. But, I have to say, when Durham and Gough got into it, their fans were very restraint, only 1 phoned in to say there's no chance of that happening. Even Durham couldn't get into it

:ROFLMAO:
How come our press are not all over this? If they are struggling I can see Rice being sold for less than they would like.

The last few games of the season West Ham looked good to me and Bowen is a good player I dont think its that much of a stretch that without injuries and one or two good signings they look good to me plus the likes of Lanzini and the Russian winger regaining form .
I hate West Ham their fans their stadium their owners but I try to use common sense and leave feelings one side when making personnel judgements on other teams .

It's likely he won't be sold at all. He and Chelsea want a move, but they must get rid of their dead wood and Spam don't want them (e.g Bats and Barkley).
From the article I would say that the spammers cannot afford anyone at the moment. They will only be able to sell if they get a transfer ban.

How much fun would it be if they were in trouble and got deducted 12 points (then a takeover to stop some losing their jobs, but still relegated)

Lanzini really hasn't been the same since his injury. Yarmolenko is inconsistent along with Haller and Anderson. I'm not sure they can rely on Antonio as he seems to miss a decent amount of games with injuries every year. Souček and Bowen were decent and Diop isn't bad.

They have a lot of money tied up in players that are injury prone (wheelchair) or inconsistent that they will struggle to get any decent fees for.

I don't like Moyes, but he kept them up and should do the same next year even with a transfer ban. It's a shame they didn't go down, I knew they were desperate to stay up, I just didn't realize how bad it was.

The same guy who described the Man City owners as , and I quote, 'good, honest people' ?
He must've spent a large chunk of his childhood being beaten with the stupid stick I think.

The likes of Sinclair and Merson and Nicholas are among the most tribal in their views they do not have the intelligence to be even handed in their views and when it comes to their own team they just cannot see the faults and this is why myself I much prefer the pundits that played in lower leagues their views are much more studied and intelligent .
The likes of Rosenior / Gary O'niel /Cinton Morrison Etc and they have not got the baggage of needing to support their old clubs .
We all know the bad pundits who mostly work for sky you then have the likes of Shearer who's comments are all based on what just happened . This type of pundit will praise a team to the hilt based on a performance one day then tear them to pieces in the next game if they play poorly . I think on the basis " play well we praise " and the same ream loses and " they are rubbish " as I say on that basis we can all be pundits as no insight or knowledge of how to actually play is not required among this type of pundit is an array of ex Man City players
like Sinclair / Goater / Richards who all seem to be on their knees praying to the Arab oil money .
They all have one thing in common they cannot or will not concede that their clubs owners are despots and money and success is all that matters how you get there is of no consequence .
