If you think Rashford's downward spiral is down to anything other than Rashford himself you are very much mistaken.
Obviously I have no idea what goes on with him off the field but it isn't working anymore for him at Man U. Perhaps the baggage he brings with him is not for other clubs and his wages certainly won't be. So most likely he is stuck at Man U on ridiculous wages until his contract expires.

I wonder if part of the problem with him is the goldfish bowl of being at Untied. The hype that surrounded him as a youngster and the publicity he got for the free school meals thing. He was a very young man to suddenly have the eyes of the world on him and weight of expectations from being United’s great hope.

Of course he bares a personal responsibility for allowing his levels to drop off so much, but whenever I see him playing now he looks like he’s weighed down by all those expectations. He had a shocker of a game yesterday, everything he tried to do went wrong, and you could tell it was getting to him.

Interesting problem for the United fans. If they appealed the Fernandes red it seems more and more likely it'd be overturned but they're all sick and tired of him so they're hoping they can see the team without him for a few weeks.

Obviously, I don't watch much Man U but I don't recall seeing Radford have a decent performance for ages now.
Seems like all he wants to do is run with the ball and score a worldy but usually just runs into traffic and loses it.
He offers nothing else and does nothing for his team.

A bit like Sane, or that kid in school that's just in it for the personal glory and is convinced he's better than he actually is.
Like they haven't progressed from youth football when they stood out because of their physical prowess but it's not enough to shine at the top levels.

It's stark contrast to his form after Ronaldo left and he suddenly thrived in that role. It was looking like he might fulfill the hype at one point. Only lasted half a season though.

I think Jose was right tbh, he's an average forward player, who can do well in a very specific situation, but no more.

I also don't really get the hype with Garnacho. He is decent enough but he doesn't strike me of someone with a particularly good skill set. He is just fairly fast & can score a goal every now & then. Nothing I see of him has me believing he is destined for the top or anything like that.
He is also a right-footed inverted left winger, who is played on the right to accommodate Rashford.

I‘d be putting Rashford up top but he needs some proper man-management to sort himself out as he has the ability, but his mentality is way off.

Garnacho would then play on favoured left.

I find Man U bizarre.

Since Sir Alex left they have wasted so much money on mediocre players - more than I’ve ever seen any other side doing.

Since Ten Haag came in this has gotten even worse and he has wasted a lot of money.

I also feel Ten Haag handled the Sancho situation very poorly - should have handled it in-house and got the best out of him as he should have been starting.

Ten Haag’s man- management seem to be pretty poor in general.

Daniel levy gets a lot of stick , myself included but not hiring ten hag despite all the calls for it has to rank high up on the list of things he can show as an ‘I know better than you’ to fans.

I can’t believe they gave him a new deal and a load of money in the summer, because there is no way he lasts the season.
Yes, the Nuno appointment was far superior.

I’ve destroyed him for it many a time but ten hag is one he got right.
I don’t disagree. In fairness you just never know what will and won’t work out with players and managers, he seems incredibly unlikeable though and I’m glad he wasn’t another feature of the sickening post poch period.

I find it bizarre that yanited, or any club for that matter, place so much value on backing a man who clearly is showing nothing.

All 20 of their titles have been won under just 3 managers. You back the right one. Most are not the right one though.

Kneejerking is obviously not the thing to do, I've always wanted Ange to see his contract out before the club considers deciding one way or the other for example, a slide towards relegation notwithstanding, but the fact that Fergie came good after several years of struggling seems to have them trapped them in this cycle of persevering with managers who are clearly showing no signs of progress - regression even. All on the off-chance he might come good as Fergie did at the eleventh hour.

The thing is, Ten Hag has already won them two cups. There is no kickstart into a glorious new league era coming with him.

Getting the managerial hire matters above any and all other considerations at all clubs not able to subvert the entire national footballing infrastructure and governance to their favour *glances at Spain's big two*

But, I'm not sure a new manager will be a quick fix either. At the moment it's really difficult to see if they are poor players, or good players under a very poor manager.

Ether way, ManU will be expecting more than this and with the likes of Scholes, Neville and Ferdinand having a nervous breakdown after every loss the pressure will be building.

Not entirely sure who is decent and available to step in - what happened to the South American guy people were raving about - went to Saudi, lasted 5 minutes and then back to South America, maybe he is available and worth a go?

Who ever replaces ETH has a very big job on their hands. Several players need removing from the first team squad and he will need then to focus on those players who actually have talent and are prepared to fight for the Team for the full game. Personally I would get rid of Rashford, Fernadez, Eriksen, Casimro,, and several others but the cost to get rid will be in the tens of millions and I don't see Ineos being very keen on losing so much money.

Now we have got the Old Trafford match over us I actually want them to have a bit of an upturn in form so that ETH keeps his job for another year. He is so utterly terrible I'm enjoying watching it and don't want it to end. Their squad is so full of rubbish it's a joy to witness.

My feeling is that Jim isn't too concerned about the league, and as long as they get a pot every season, then it looks good at the Ineos end of year shindig. I reckon they'll still get to a final.

Unless things go too far (like being bottom half of the table after Christmas or something), he'll not spend money he doesn't feel he has to.
