Probably just delaying the inevitable for another few months.

Suppose he gets a bigger payout when he is sacked

Genuinely though it doesn’t sound they’re particularly convinced by him but they’re going to give him a new contract and buy him players this summer and I can’t see him being there the full season.
This all ends with Southgate taking over about February time.

yeah, I feel the same way, wait to see who is available after the Euros... and give him a few months to see if he turns it around. frankly, winning the FA cup, he deserves a chance to turn things around. but would be funny if they screw up in the first 3 or 4 games.

Brilliant news that he is staying - astounding that they think he is good enough but there you go.

I don't think that's why he's staying.. he's staying because they can't get anyone in and this way they can get on with the summer business without waiting around,

They could throw all sorts of money at pretty much any manager (apart from Pep) in the world and they could get them if they really wanted.

Is this how he runs his businesses. Scare the incumbent into stepping up........But this is Football.
What, buy failing assets and let them bumble along while he skims off the top and avoid taxes? Maybe get some government investment for the infrastructure?

Ten Haag won the FA Cup. That's enough for Jim. Why invest more, team's good enough, right?
