Not winning a game after being up 3 goals with 15 minutes left. It's like we transferred part of our club's very soul into them in that first cup match and then finished the job last Sunday.
I nearly choked on my meal 😂

I’m sorry you’ve had so many negative comments because you are quite right.

I volunteer in a prison and frequently spend time with men who are actively “cutting up” or whose arms bear the scars of past episodes of self harm. It’s alarming, sad and no joking matter.

But what if he's doing it to himself and lightly joking as a way of trying not to make it serious for himself. To deflect.

The first question should be "Pep are you okay?". Not "charge him" as we have no idea what's going on in his head.

When people are under high amounts of stress then they may say silly things and also do bad things to themselves.

I agree that charging Pep would be frivolous and inappropriate. I guess having seen the consequences of people seriously harming themselves I’m just sensitive to the likes of Pep making light of it.

But let’s get back to football and enjoy some serious schadenfreude at City’s expense.

I'm assuming that the negative comments have been removed now?

The club have let him down to be honest in letting him go in front of the media in that state and letting this become any kind of issue. I know that football is a bit of a unique business but they still have a duty of care to the guy and should have immediately pulled him from media duties to work out and address whatever is going on. How it's panned out has helped absolutely nobody.

As someone who has had some mental health battles its fucking awful to see the bloke (or anyone) in that type of state. I cannot believe that they let him go out and do a presser.

We don't actually know what's happened though, he may have fallen into a bramble bush for all we know so I don't think we should leap onto the mental health issues thing yet.

Probably best to just hope he's ok and leave it at that.

I am hoping it was more extreme frustration where he was grabbing his head and his face in sheer frustration rather than anything deeper than that.

someone with his strong will and desire will be at boiling point with these losses and it has culminated in him losing his shit in the dressing room.

hopefully anyway.

Heard a lot of debate about whether or not Pep is the best manager in the Premier League era, if Fergie was a better overall manager, and one of the main arguments seems to be around he inherits already successful teams to win with, but that requires a whole different set of skills. Fergie was, by all reports, a terrifying bloke and I can't imagine him walking into a team of stars and not being the most marmite guy in there. Pep has a modern approach, he's a man-manager, so where people say stuff like Big Sam could've managed a Barca or Bayern side to a trophy simply for having the best players, but keeping the whole squad on side, where players have their own un-written union, upsetting one often upsets others - Pep's skills are in earning respect, understanding how to get the best out of players and balancing that with keeping the board sweet through success.

Right now it seems he's having a bit of a struggle with the squad he's got staying motivated, but he's replaced megastars in the past and I'm sure he will again. It's a hiccup and I don't think it actually reflects on Pep as a manager at all. Tactician, perhaps, but overall he's still arguably the best in the league, imo.
I like pep, I will just never see him at elite level, won a lot with top quality players but at the very least Klopp and Ferguson are the betrrr managers.

Maybe its like an inversion of the time Alex Ferguson kicked a football boot(?) across the room and it hit David Beckham.

To be fair. Who wouldn’t wanna do that? I don’t mind Becks but him coming out with rhe plaster on his eye brow was classic. Uve been a wanker take it, don’t make a big deal of it. I feel we forget at time the money these players are paid. You could kick a bowling ball at me for 100k a week. I’d grin at you and say *that all u got.

The head scratching I get, mind you he needs to seriously cut his fingernails.
It’s the cut down his nose that doesn’t quite add up for me, wouldn’t surprise me if there was a bit of argie bargie in the changing room after though.

He had the cut on his nose pre-game, that's a separate incident

Could be worse back in my school days we got rather drunk on whiskey and a mate of mine went for a slash in a pub carpark.
Fell cock first into a load of nettles mid slash! 🤣

Self harm is rife, and there is many forms of self harm. It’s. It always cutting or physically hurting urself. Drugs and alcohal are self harming and equally dangerous. But cutting with the more recent generation is definitely a bigger problem than I think most people realise. We have to remember *bleeding* one’s self many years ago was an actual medical procedure. The idea of getting rid of old blood to be replaced with new isn’t something new.

As much as I want to laugh at City's downfall, that just isn't right. What's happened to Pep?
Pressure, feeling he is failing and punishing himself when he feels he has failed. It’s not somthing to be taken lightly and is an indication of worse things to come, suicide basically. Other indicators are not looking after yourself, not washing or really caring about ur appearance, which I have also noticed from Pep.

I think mental issues were also a part of why Klopp resigned totally out of the blue. He was getting manic at times and I think he may have had some kind of intervention from people close to him.
