wonder if their off field issues are affecting their form
I doubt that tbh. They've lost the wrong players to injuries and they've actually failed to refresh the treble winning side successfully. Bringing Gundogan back instead of going for a younger, fresher face is a prime example of something that might have seemed sensible at the time but is a long term strategic failure.

They have absolutely no legs in midfield without Rodri. Pep's won the league without a forward but you can't win the league without a midfield.

I’m actually surprised he signed the new contract. I think he doesn’t really care anymore and he’s just gettting the pay salary. He knows finitially the club is fucked and he is quite happy to see out his retirement there, or just wait for the Spain job, but again he is Catalonian so maybe he wouldn’t take it.

Pep has campaigned for Catalan independence, I don't think he'd touch the Spain job with a bargepole.

Bit shocked at how poor they were defensively. Walker seems to struggle against the better teams and Gvardiol (sp?) had a torrid time against Kuluveski

I felt their work rate was really poor. They'll get results from the quality they have, but they need to work harder than they did.

Rodri and De Bruyne were big losses to them but we all have injuries.

Gvardiol really struggled.

Walker - 34
Gundogan - 34
De Bruyne - 33
Ederson - 31
Silva - 30
Stones - 30

Even Kovacic who didn't play yesterday but is going to need to be relied upon without Rodri is 30 now. A hugely talented bunch of players but age catches up with everyone, and when you've won it all and feel that your body can't do the things it used to do - maybe there's a point where psychologically it becomes harder and harder.

With the talent and manager they've got they'll always move the ball around well, but compared to old City sides with Toure, Fernandinho, Rodri etc - their midfield looks pretty lightweight at the moment. What scares the shit out of me is that I'm almost certain they'll move for Kulusevski in the summer for the above reasons, he always seems to perform against them, Pep has openly praised him many times and he'd be a perfect natural replacement for Bernardo Silva. Just got to hope we can continue our rebuild faster than they can as the trajectory our two clubs went on since selling them Walker should be a lesson for all to see.

Pep has this habit of brain farting every now and then and trying to be too clever. Square pegs in round holes plus the lack of legs in key positions killed them yesterday.

Why not play Nunes & Silva in the middle, Foden as the 10 and Grealish & Savinho wide.

Walker & Gundogan look finished at the very top level, their legs have gone.

The majority of the squad has been together for so many years I think time and lack of motivation to keep going is catching up with them. Plus maybe the off pitch stuff on top of it.

You have won everything you practically can, what else is there to do? They're getting on in age for a footballer as mentioned above several are 30+.

Whatever the result of these charges that squad needs a proper refresh and in terms of senior players they don't have enough which is rather surprising.

If you go back a few pages I said that I was certain Pep was off in the summer.

Therefore I'm really shocked he's decided to stay on because he now needs a big refresh and should City get any punishment or even some tighter restrictions, I struggle to see them going about that successfully.

Can see City going very heavy in the next two windows. Cannot imagine Pep agreeing to stay unless he had assurances they would rebuild for the next two years.

Rodri is obviously a huge loss but they don't seem the same level this season. Lots of players have been there a long time and age is catching up with a few. Can see them going big, it wouldn't surprise me if they come knocking at a few doors of clubs in the league.
