Starting to think I’d rather City get away with everything. The only teams who will benefit from any punishment are teams I hate and alternatively if they get away with it the amount of Arsenal/Liverpool/Utd piss it would boil would be joyous.

If city are found guilty of all or most of the charges put on them and ignoring the penalties imposed does anyone know if individual (or jointly) clubs will be able to sue for compensation?

Think in the Everton case Leeds and others were given permission to sue because they were relegated but nothing seems to have come of it, so may be possible for clubs to sue if Man C are found guilty but assessing losses wouldn't be easy.

But all based on the lower standard of balance of probability. Based on being guilty. Did you do it.? Yes. Was it to gain an unfair advantage? Yes. Did you get a benefit? Yes. It is then down to quantum.

This case is going to drag on for ages, if Man C are cleared of the most serious charges I doubt the PL will appeal as some of the same seasons were covered in the CAS case. If City are found guilty then they are bound to appeal which will take us through to the 25/26 season.
The good thing about the commission even though it's being held in private the verdict will be published in full for everyone to see and examine.

So Lord Pannick, who has previously represented our late Queen and former PM Johnson is heading up Man City's legal team. Not a chance anything comes of this.

Not unbeatable, Pannick represented Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Vice President of UAE in a divorce case and lost , the Sheikh also had to pay £554 million in divorce settlement .

I can't remember if the Italian teams did after the Juve mid 2000's scandal for example.
The Italian FA didn’t hesitate to relegate Juventus and Juventus didn’t seem to appeal, but accepted their punishment and got on with it. I can’t see City accepting any punishment if I’m honest. I fear that money and legal representation will see them through.

The case will be decided entirely on what evidence the PL have , the PL have just as good legal representation as Man C , in fact the lead Barristers for each side come from the same chambers.

In many media reports all we hear about is Lord Pannick KC the barrister representing Man City , let's have some publicity for the man that many football fans hope will win the day , the PL's barrister Adam Lewis KC.

If City are found to have broken financial rules then they will get at least a points deduction, the desicion is up to the three person panel and they will look back at previous desicions made, you only have to read the Everton summing up and they admitted breaking the rules which City are not and still got points deducted.

We have no doubt that the circumstances of this case are such that only a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction would be appropriate. A financial penalty for a club that enjoys the support of a wealthy owner is not a sufficient penalty.
