I would have left this summer if I were Pep. Surely a ton of uncertainty now for City ahead of next season. Hard to see them being as good as they've been in recent years in that context.
Yea good point and likes of KDB, walker etc another year older and unlikely to be as good as they have been historically.
Given his family links with Girona who is also in city groups stable maybe he won't / can't just walk away before end of season.
While he is probably the best coach in last couple of decades, if city are found guilty and are given a very harsh penalty then whether he likes it or not his achievements with them will be tainted

If this happens, then English football is finished...
Nah. If the fans of other teams even get a whiff of foul play they can ruin the spectacle of City games and make the PL unwatchable in which case it is worth nothing. It's a cliche but it's honestly nothing without the fans. If not the PL then an alternative league would be set up with stricter rules on ownership. If fans and other clubs really start demanding change, City have no power really.

As his bosses have told him they did nothing wrong and are being wrongly accused 115 times by the league I just can't understand why he is not able to commit until after November which coincidentally is when the adjudication is meant to place between PL and city. Some coincidence the timing.

He's said all the way through this that he is backing them, but if they are proved to have lied to him he will walk.

He has and was very forthright in making it known that they have told him it's all nonsense so why not commit now if he believes them?
This smells of hedging and being linked to the case.

It could also be that he’s been there a long time and it may be he’s starting to think of a new challenge?

Pep’s obviously a great manager, created some great teams but the fan kind of has a point, I personally prefer my football a bit more direct. Also if pep is so great he’s also a precious little bitch when he gets called out on stuff.

He really is a great manager but I think he should’ve won more cl titles given the teams he’s had/produced. Sometimes tries to be too clever for his own good imo

Pep should’ve been more successful at City considering the funds at his disposal. Discuss. Not a particularly long conversation in my opinion.

"If" mate. Everyone, including Guardiola, know's they lied, and cheated, it's whether the courts can prove it.
He's just a joker, who's trying to convey he has a semblance of integrity.

It is boring football though whether he likes it or not, only time I ever watch City now is the bigger games.

He's been given the funds to build a billion pound squad from day one, and shape it exactly how he wants, with who he wants.

I'm not saying hes not a great manager, he is, but he definitely needs very specific and usually pricey high end players to get them playing exactly how he likes.

It won't ever happen now due to his reputation. But i'd love to see what he could do with a mid table prem team with mid table funds. I'd like to see him work on a proper budget and see if he could adjust his tactics.

He makes very successful teams (very expensive ones), but exciting, no.

I always remember his Barcelona, pre Pep it was a joy to watch them and then when he got hold of them it was just Pique and Puyol passing to each other for half the match.

Obviously there is the idea that teams sitting deep against them causes this boring football, but just look at his Barca/City/Bayern teams they're incredible on paper. I'd love to see how he does without a budget in the championship.

The problem is so many coaches today copy his way of playing.

So much so that it's almost become a law that you have to have these principles to your play.

Ancelotti could argue he is better in this generation ans doesn't get the accolades or people wanting to copy his style.

Personally, if I was a young aspiring coach I'd really study Ancelotti.

Because if you study Pep's your always going to come up against someone who does it better and football needs more systems that counter it.

I can’t really remember but how did Ancelotti get on at Everton? ( I’m still shocked they managed to get him! )

Not a stunning record but they finished 12th in his half season having sacked Marco Silva when they were 18th at the time, and 10th in his full season.
