I popped over to blue moon to see what those clowns are saying. It's worse than I expected:

Finally seems we've had enough of playing nice. It's gonna get spicy from here on out boys

they wanted a war and they got one

Unbelievable isn't it. They are not even trying to hide it anymore. Fucking cartel.

It really does also show how opposition fans are thick as shit, They genuinely reckon Manchester City is the problem here...Wow.

id be quite happy at this stage if the teams along with city pull the plug on the PL, strike, boycott or whatever you want to call it, the PL is crumbling from within, its at bursting point with corruption and i seriously think they will self destruct before the season starts

CFG are the biggest investors in the city of Manchester and the most important partner the local authority has got. Thousands of jobs and hundreds of businesses are being put under threat beacuse of a politically-motivated witchunt by a corrupt cartel and a racist UK media

Feels like the Premier League version of Brexit.
They’ve really drunk the Kool Aid haven’t they.

You’re right, far worse.

So tribal that they are completely blinded by their “success”.

I just hope that we never sink to their level, and find a way to win some of the trophies fairly!

This really does feel like a bit of a watershed moment for football.

Crazy.
If the charges are proven, they should receive a 200-point deduction. 100 points next season, and 100 points the next time they are in the PL. that assures 2 non-successive years in the championship and provides the championship an opportunity to punish them further, if they break the rules set for the championship.

But it will probably be a 15 point deduction, reduced to 10 on appeal…

That'd what it is. Post truth. It's all right out of the Putin play book.

The City owners have the luxury of being able to take anything they want to court because they can afford the absolute best lawyers and, even if they lose, money is no object. They are so rich that millions can be made just be moving some other stuff around for a few days. The whole system is setup so that the more you have the more you can get.

The Premier League don't have that luxury and even if they are nailed on to "win" this, it'll cost them buckets to go through the process, it's the most egregious dick waving from the City owners from that perspective.

I'm just puzzled who it is decided to go the discrimination route - that is a seriously flammable issue, with literally no basis that I am aware of. The PL welcomed Newcastle's owners (don't believe the hype of them being over scrutinized, more than was appropriate - if they hadn't gone through the process they'd be torn apart the moment something went awry, they couldn't risk that). Perhaps they're butt-hurt that the Premier League haven't asked to have one game a season in the middle east or got in the way of their Super League plans, I dunno, but it's very a peculiar addition to the argument.

This is the problem of having nation states own clubs. It’s not just the money,it’s the influence that these countries can have. The government pushed through the Saudi purchase of Newcastle.
Abu Dhabi are, reportedly, about to make a 25bn investment in the uk.
No doubt they will have been talking to the government. I wish this bunch of snake charmers would just sod off and go back to camel racing. Slowly knackering our football
Racist ?

You make good points but even the finest lawyer can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear and the City lawyers are having to argue that their client should have the right to cheat. This is unquestionably a losing proposition.

Listening to the Price of Football podcast it seems that Man City might have a bit of a case and I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the latest thing with the premier league.

I just can’t see a solution to this to be honest. It seems by the day that City are guilty of all charges, but this goes way beyond just football. What happens if city don’t accept the sanctions? We are talking about Abu Dhabi and royalty here not just a football club!
