Fans serving death threats on a person is just crazy. I get that you're passionate about your team and all, but wanting to kill another person because he was unlucky to injure a player on your team, has nothing to do with the sport. I remember when Christian Vieri left Lazio and this one supporter killed himself because he felt that this was it for his beloved Lazio. I think it just crazy when a sport has this impact on a person - you win and loose. Go on with your life.

weird I was only saying this to my neighbour on Sunday whilst retrieving my cat that had received a wallop that landed him over his side of the fence.....

*i dont actually own a cat before people call the RSPCA

Also, it really doesn’t need siding with ?

I’m coming from it purely as a goalkeeper, and watching how academy keepers train, it’s a technique that is trained for, it’s 100% not malicious towards the player.
Its unfortunate but then a lot of leg breakers are, remember Son on Gomes, rightly sent off on that one, and I don’t necessarily disagree that Pickford should have been sent off either, I’m just putting it out there it’s not as straight forward as a ‘challenge’ like an outfield player.
Rob Green explains it perfectly on sky sports (can be seen on Twitter), he went to go for the ball in their air, eyes on ball, once he noticed VVD coming he changes body shape to do the spread (air bourne), once committed is going into the player.

You work at Stockley Park don't you?

A lot of decisions now starting to make sense :shifty:

Horrendous challenge, terrible accident

Hopefully VVD makes a full recovery and can get back to somewhere near his best

Fantastic footballer

The way his knee ended it almost looked Zlatans injury against Ajax. He landed awkward and his knee inverted. Luckily came back early, but that’s Zlatan I guess

Fuckin pricks, absolutely ridiculous carryon by so called grown men, embarrassing. Their players are perfect for their fanbase absolute cretins the lot of them.
The thing with Liverpool is that last season everything seemed to be in their favour, referees decisions, VAR decisions, Sky match programming, pundits support. This year VVD was fouled, no sending off,no penalty ,no favouritism. They can’t handle the turn around.

All you people taking the piss out of Liverpool fans oughta be ashamed of yourselves!

This is one of the worst things that has happened in the history of humanity!

Is that message to fans cringeworthy? NO! It's not enough! I even wrote a tweet of complaint to the Liverpool Echo for not wreathing their entire building in black felt ribbons as a sign of solidarity with the poor downtrodden Liverpool fans who have had their hearts ripped out of their chests. A bit like hubcaps from an unattended car.

Where's your sense of perspective, you callous bastards?! This isn't children starving around the world; this is IMPORTANT! Thank God we at least live in a world where people aren't tortured for their beliefs, where human beings aren't repressed for dressing differently, thinking differently, owning genitalia differently, so that brave (if not sufficiently in mourning) press organisations can spend their time putting together sumptuous, heart-rending videos like that one; a video that expresses the deep connection between a multi-millionaire who can retire at the age of 35 without worrying about providing for his family ever again and the wage-slaves that fund his lifestyle. That's FAMILY, that is! Thank God for the Liverpool Echo, I say (but if their journalists could cry just a little, that would be great.)

And yes, let's also thank the agents who are on hand to make sure that even when injured, the elite are unstinting in getting their marketing messages out. My Lord, what a world it would be without them, right?

I think you should all take a good, long hard look at yourselves in the mirror. FFS!

Possibly in this case, but it´s certainly not unthinkable that it would´ve been posted by a Liverpool fan; in fact many have reacted like he will never walk again.

Yeah, there have been some proper over the top reactions - I think more born from the fact they know they have no chance of winning the league now, although I guess anything could happen this year as football is fucking weird atm. That kid was definitely trolling for a FT "bang" though
