Klopp has a dislike of Neville going back to when Neville tore into I think Mignolet, and Klopp questioned the worth of an opinion from someone who had so spectacularly failed in his one attempt at management.

I very much agreed with Klopp on that one (even though I find him easy to dislike). While I accept that messing up as a manager isn't necessarily indicative of lesser footballing wisdom, there's failing and then there's Gary Neville at Valencia failing. At least the likes of Sounness, Hoddle and Gullit have achieved to an extent as managers.

Never happened

I'd normally trust an Athletic journalist to have their shit together (this is lifted from a James Pearce piece on the site), but

I agree that I don't think it happened but he definitely seems like the type of **** to say something like that.
I've just looked at the comments section on the real article on the Athletic and James Pearce is insisting it's 100% true.

But it's just ... so hard to believe. Even after reading his explanations I'm really struggling to believe it's true.

In this instance, forgetting the tribal aspect (I know, it's fucking hard to do with Liverpool) but I'm sure most of that group, if not all, are hurting as much as the rest of us after this week and won't have a racist bone in their bodies. If we can't join the protests in America, we can all help ensure that 'No Room for Racism in Football' truly starts after this.

Bootlicking Liverpool feels wrong, but this time, for the greater good I can just about put up with it. (Bites knuckles).

How many of the people at the club during the Suarez case are still there now? At a push I'd say no players a few staffers. Maybe Henderson or Milner?

It's frankly unfair to attack this group of players because of something a totally different group of players (and different manager and different backroom staff) did almost a decade ago just because they represent the same club.

It’s cringeworthy. Like their visit to the Twin Towers.

Point scoring and dick measuring when they're trying to send out a positive message is just stupid, come on - sometimes you gotta let your allegiances lie especially for the greater good.

I get what you're saying but i guess it depends whether you think the two have to go hand-in-hand. For me, being a manager and being a pundit are two completely different jobs. Neville can be a good pundit without having been a good manager and vice versa. Obviously it's up to the individual to decide how much weight to give someone's opinion based on their experience.

You're spot on. Infact the point Klopp made about Neville failing so badly at management, thus his opinion on a goalkeeper holds no weight, is absolutely ridiculous.

The big goofy mug.

They always somehow manage to make it about them. Convenient they were training at Anfield that day for the first time so the photo could be taken. Usually I'd give teams benefit of the doubt, but not them.
