I caught a glimpse of a woman on TV in the gym Monday, the subtitles mentioned something about the 96

Why has that come up the day after they lost the title race?

That might have been to do with the ongoing Hillsborough trial, someone was slapped with a fine (£6.5k ?)
relating to H&S failings I think.

I think someone needs to have an afternoon nap and to change their meds.

This is a piss boiling article.

The guys been fined £6,500 because of social media basically.

Mackrell, 69, was found guilty on 3 April of failing in his official duties as the stadium’s safety officer to ensure there were adequate turnstiles for the thousands of people with tickets to support Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest.

Read on

Openshaw said that when setting the level of the fine, he was taking into account Mackrell’s good character, the view of South Yorkshire police officers at the time that he was a “diligent” safety officer and the view that Hillsborough was safe, and that Mackrell had suffered “vilification” and “vituperation” on social media.

David Ornstein (reliable on Arsenal but not sure how good he is on other clubs) has said on 5Live that Liverpool will spend very little this summer, and suggested even players who will cost c.£20m are out of their price range for this summer (the clip is easy to find on social media if anyone's interested).

I was expecting them to spend again this summer but it would be good news for the rest of us if they just stick with what they've got. Most Liverpool fans are claiming he's talking rubbish, but then they think probably they can spend another £200m and still attribute it to 'the Coutinho money'.

Some fans never grow up not matter how old they become....

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...-pulling-matchday-stewards-trousers-down.html

Liverpool fan who dumped Barcelona local into a fountain now filmed pulling matchday steward's trousers down
  • Martin Mullen was named as the man caught in a shocking video in Barcelona
  • He appeared to flip a Barcelona street seller into a fountain earlier this month
  • And this latest video was captured on the final day of the season near Anfield

Unfortunately, I'm not too sure how much this will effect them.

They're a team that doesn't need an overhaul, having run City close all season and only losing one game out of 38 in the league.

What with some of Europe's biggest teams looking to have a clear-out, there are probably going to be some bargain loan-deals available, so if they only need one or two players to tweak their squad then that may be doable.

The sum of all fears is if Bale goes there. Some may say they don't need him, but they need something to win the PL. If they had of had an extra quality forward this season, they would have done it, so I don't think it's unreasonable to speculate that they'll be after an attacker this transfer window.

It will also depend on wages as much as anything, tbh, but in terms of spending big on transfer fees they've already done the heavy-lifting in that department.

I know some people hate saying things like this, but ultimately the points total they had and only losing one game in the end over a 38 game season would have seen them win the league numerous times over the years I believe. Don't think in the grand scheme of things they could have done any more to win it (aside from beating City in that one game they lost which really is the one game that secured it for them in the end).
