Just good negotiating from Salah and his agent..the fans will demand they offer him big fat new contract.
I’m wondering if they are planning on letting him and TAA go. VVD hasn’t long left on his contract either. Bonkers that they’ve let three big players like that get to this point though.

Jamie Carragher was saying on last week's Stick to Football that it was almost expected by the club and some fans that a local lad should feel grateful to play for the club (or feel that he should be paid less because he's one of them) and will earn less than someone the club bought. Gary Neville backed that up with his experience at Man Utd.

If the report that TAA wants 350k then he's already out the door. Salah would get that type of increase but he won't. It wouldn't be too surprising if Salah goes, either, although if his plans are to go to Saudi then his form this year suggests he could spend a couple more years at Liverpool first.

He is the most popular and marketable person in the Arab world and he has won the Champions League and has nothing else to prove in Europe.

The time to cash in would be at the end of this season, rather than risk burn out and injury a few years later.
Nah, he's still got it, if I were him I'd keep playing at the top level until he burns out. Then he can go to Saudi and swim in cash.

The Saudi league is for the mercenaries or for retiring. He's still in his pomp, no reason to go now imo.

Unless he's getting an offer from one of the big European clubs, which is very much a possibility (Same goes for VVD and TAA).

Salah has been in great form for this season, but don’t underestimate that he’s playing for his last big money contract. Once he has it, he will be feeling a lot more comfortable and that’s when the decline might come in.

What a predicament for Liverpool though. I was watching a clip the other day and they were suggesting that TAA and VVD will likely be waiting until the Salah situation is resolved to see what he gets.

Personally, they are all getting on and all will likely want 3 year deals on big money. Might be worth them cutting ties, especially if they win the PL this season as the fans may well accept a season or 2 drop off whilst they plug the holes.

Liverpool would be absoloute bonkers to pay TAA 350k a week. I'm a big fan of his as well, but what RB has ever been paid even close to that much?

So many clubs have been stung by giving these players outrageous contracts. (See Rashford and half the united squad).

I suspect it's the same with all 3, they are all asking for huge wages and Liverpool probably won't pay them.

If Liverpool don't tie up Salah with a new contract then they are officially mental. Just start off by offering him "anything you want" then he can delete as applicable.

Salah, TAA and VVD are all free to talk to foreign teams now, that seems like terrible planning. Re-signing all 3 will probably cost Liverpool the best part of a million a week! I wonder what will happen, losing all 3 for nothing can't happen surely?

Salah and VVD are older than I thought though, 32 and 33, you wouldn't want to offer them a big long contract , but they might have to.

Salah has been key for them, yet again, laying on assists as consistently as goals, there is no way on earth they can let him leave. TAA, I seem to recall, was making noises that he wanted to look elsewhere a while back, when he wasn't getting games for a bit but he's so popular and he's had a terrific year, mental to lose him.

Wouldn't be that surprised to see VVD go though, like you say, at 33 this is likely his last "big" paycheck - I imagine there'll be interest from America, for sure.

Terrible planning? Liverpool can make offers but any decent agent is going to advise the player to use the market as leverage, even if they want to stay.

Surely you can only offer 3 year deals to salah and vvd? It's poor planning from Liverpool not renewing both way sooner. Salah is playing the best football of his career but we all know how soon it could drop off. They won't be replacing salah anytime soon tho. He's their Kane.

Personally think Trent will struggle at Madrid but it's good to see more English players moving abroad. If I was a young player, with no real ties, I'd love to play in a different country and experience a different culture.

I'd imagine there's interest from just about every league! VVD is a great player still, you wouldn't want to give him a 3 or 4 year deal though.

You'd be right last year or the summer before, but I think to have 3 of your best players including the captain free to talk to other teams would be a terrible situation to be in.

If that was Dek(rw)i, Son(captain)and Porro (rb), the fans would be up in arms.

You can't force players to sign new contracts. It's brinkmanship from both Salah and VVD to get the best new contract offers from Liverpool, but I think they will both stay. Trent looks like he's off to Madrid though.

TAA £350k per week 😂😂😂

they should tell Madrid to go fuck until the summer then let him leave. Won’t be the same player outside of Liverpool imo

It wouldn’t cost them an an extra million a week.

Probablu £100k per week increase in wages each.

£15m a year for the next 3 years in wage increases.

Even if they only got 2 years out of VVD and Salah that is still a hell of a return. Would cost them a lot more to go and sign replacements, and the replacements would want the same money anyway.

TAA surely only gets £350k per week in the summer with no transfer fee.

If there is a fee, then £200k would be generous and still a huge increase on his current deal.
