Pfft I dunno... if I were being interviewed by every sport broadcaster from around the world directly after my team were knocked out of a quarter final, I think I might be a little irritable to say the least. He's annoyed, frustrated, tired etc. He should react better but shit happens. It's not like Ange is all sweetness in pressers either.

He's done these interviews for how many years? He has no excuses and should learn to control his emotions better in interviews. Interviewers are just doing their job whether people like it or not. Walking away in a huff is one thing, but to call him overweight/out of shape is out of line.

He‘s always been like this. He comes across as this affable if intense statesman of the game when things are going his way. But as soon as he’s under a bit of pressure he turns into nothing more than a petulant bully.

The next phase is Klopp adressing this reporter directly in his next presser and making a big show of apologising in public and it'll all be huggy and chummy and ahahaha and everyone in the media will let it go because "it's just how Klopp is, innit?", even though we all can see how staged it is.

This is him in an nutshell.

He is an absolute force, but when things go wrong (especially in important games) he gets quite nasty and in this case personal.

Own the defeat and move on.

As we've all seen countless times before, he's a weapons grade shithead when things don't go his way. He was so right for Liverpool.

Alonso expected to stay at Leverkusen, which can only be seen as good news!

https://theathletic.com/5235774/202...pool-manager-next/?source=user_shared_articleLiverpool and Bayern Munich expect Xabi Alonso to remain at Bayer Leverkusen
although, Liverpool have very good foundations,

you never know with a manager how its going to go tbh its kind of irrelevant who they land it could still go either way.

a lot of the promising managers will struggle it’s a huge step up, and your not going to get time, before judgement, there are no easy games in the league it’s going to be relentles. The pressure will be insane.

Xabi Alonso committing to Leverkusen is a massive blow to Liverpool. If they go for Amorim there’s a real risk he struggles to cope with the relentless intensity of the Premier League, while De Zerbi’s Brighton have been inconsistent to say the least. If it had been Alonso the fans would have given him a bit more patience as well due to his standing at the club from his playing days. Now, whoever takes the job is probably going to have to deal with fans calling for Alonso to replace them as soon as they hit any issues.

Lovely.

It’s a wise move by Alonso to not move to Liverpool straight after Klopp.

It will be very difficult to follow Klopp in the same way as Man Utd found it difficult to replace Fergie.

The good news is Man U haven't replaced Fergie~ hoping mid table for Pool as well.

I actually don't think it's analogous. When Fergie left most of Man United's best players were at the twilight end of their careers, and they chose the wrong man to come in and continue what Fergie was doing.

Pool's team is pretty young, a lot of talent coming through right now, and there's an identity to the team. I agree that Alonso might have struggled had he come in trying to change everything to fit his style, but someone like Amorim who has a similar style should find it pretty easy to maintain continuity. Amorim also has the kind of personality that can fill Klopp's void. Whereas Moyes after Fergie must have felt like your least favorite substitute teacher coming in full time after your favorite teacher retired
