Hazard's contract runs until Summer 2020. They either sell him without being able to replace him (albeit Pulisic coming in) or lose him for free. I personally think he will be off.

The cynic in my says they'll appeal this and either get it overturned or reduced after they throw a few envelopes UEFAs way.

Looks like they knew it was coming and have already prepared for it tbh.

Pulisic joining up with them in summer, and an option to extend Higuain's loan by 12 months, which takes them up to the end of 2019/20 season.

They've also got players like Morata, Batshuayi, Moses, Zouma as well as some promising young players out on loan who can be recalled.

They'll weather this storm pretty easily IMO.

What will prove more difficult is attracting a replacement manager and telling him he can't sign anyone for a year.

This is great news (until it's overturned).

Well who needs a gay fish anyway.

Pulisic must be glad he chose Chelsea now. More chance of first team football and plenty of Thursday night games!

Watch it get reduced on appeal. Chelsea will threaten to take it to CAS and FIFA will offer a compromise sanction.

Yep exactly the same.
I cant see how they can get Pulisic unless its appealed. He's still a Dortmund player so Chelsea haven't registered him yet

Pulisic is on loan at Dortmund, so he is registered to Chelsea.

This isn't a bolt out of the blue for Chelsea. They jumped the gun on Pulisic in Jan precisely because they knew a transfer ban was coming down.

With so many breaches I can't possibly see how they can walk away with this on appeal. At best I'd expect a 1 window ban and a 2nd suspended. This would mean they couldn't register Pulisic until the 2020 winter window maybe??

edit - I see Pulicic is on loan back to Dortmund so no issue with his registrstion in the summer

Pulisic is registered. It's done. He's a Chelsea player on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

It is not "exactly the same".

Turan was signed during a transfer ban, and so the player could not debut.

Pulisic was NOT signed during a transfer ban, therefore he can debut when his loan ends.

It wasn't just FIFA dropping the hammer on them. The FA did too. Everybody seems fed up with them gobbling up youth talent, loaning it out, not playing it and ruining careers.

I don't think what happened with Barca is applicable here. I really think there is a decent chance their appeal is denied.

When it happened at Barca with 10 youth players, they appealed, which delayed the ban, but they still had the two windows where they couldn’t sign players. My feeling is they will definitely still get the ban, but most likely to be the winter and summer 2020.

There’s every possibility Sarri just lucky with a group of players at Napoli. He’s been managing 30 years. What success did he have in the previous 27 not very much. Surely if he was some super talented tactician he’d have made an impact before just hitting 60. Even I have a few good games on FIFA ?

Not really sure how you can make that argument to be honest. He's not some ex-player who got fast tracked to a big job and then had a couple of good seasons e.g. a Zidane or Roy Keane type. He only became a manager in his 40s when he took over some local village club. He's had to work his way up from the very bottom of the game all the way to the top one small step at a time, moving from job to job based on pure old fashioned merit. He's "paid his dues" and worked his way up through the ladder more than almost any other manager in the top divisions in Europe, so to try and argue that he's just some jammy bastard who blagged his way into Napoli and fluked it for a couple of seasons is just flat out wrong.

Didn't Real Madrid get a 2 window ban reduced to 1 on appeal ??o_O

Chelsea have previous however, it's not the first time they've been scrutinised, so maybe the ban will be upheld for their failure to heed warnings.
