It's about club culture not individuals, works the same in companies outside of football. Players develop a way to go about things, New players catch onto that way of doing things and they pass it on etc.

Yeah they remind me of one of those inner city trading firms where bullying and politics are rife and the only way to communicate with people is to shout and swear at them, until you get new owners who will identify the problem and dismiss the right people that culture will never change.

Its a poisonous club from top to bottom, so I think most genuine football fans enjoyed yesterday.
Don't think Chelsea have been the same since Terry left (and it pains me to say that!) - there is no one left to provide leadership in the dressing room and bang peoples heads together when needed.
Hazard is like the untouchable little Emperor (sure to be off in the summer) and people like Luiz only turn up when they feel like it-his performance at centre half against us at Wembley earlier in the season is one of the worst I have seen from an opposing centre half in my whole time watching live football.

Carragher got it right when he said they're soft.
Think I said similar on here ahead of the 2nd leg of the cup against them - I don't think they have players now who are up for a fight when it really matters. They used to have a bastard or two in the squad, be it Terry, Fabregas or someone else. Someone who knew was a big derby game was about and would get the team worked up for it. Now you look and don't see a leader anywhere.
Not in the least bit surprised Sarri is having problems, and I don't put that down as being his fault.

I think he's now staring down the barrel, but if they want to return to success then Roman needs to change his "instant success" hire and fire policy, especially when he isn't splashing as much cash on players as he once did.
He needs to look, as Levy did, at a mid/long term project to get them back to the top.
Lampard would be mad to take the job, but he would be their equivalent of Solskjaer at United - knows the club through and through and what it means to win with them.

Watch them miraculously come out with the Carabao trophy in two weeks though...

Yesterday's result has definitely ended their quest for CL next year. We now have to concentrate on closing the gap to the top two and keeping our distance from Manure and the Arse.

They’re one point outside the top 4 with 12 games left to play. It’s not over for them just yet.

A 24/7 sports news channel is a daft idea. The sports is at the end of the normal news for a reason - football scores, England lose wickets cheaply, Scotland lost in the rugby, Wimbledon update, a horse won the National, throw in the occasional Olympics result and you're done. Sky Sports News has to resort to sensationalist rubbish simply to justify its existence. Sky should have made SSN a bit more like the BBC News channel who mix its live news with additional programming like HardTalk, Click, Panorama, etc. I'd rather watch a sports version of Panorama that investigates FIFA's corruption, spot-fixing in cricket, etc. rather than a reporter stood outside the Spurs training ground reciting something they read on Twitter.

Agree completely. Especially in a country where one sport is so dominant. During weekends or CL weekdays, there's enough for them to talk about from the football to fill the time, but mid-week when there's no games on there just isn't enough breaking news from football to warrant 24 hour coverage, and there's just not enough interest in the other sports to fill the time with live updates.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a rugby fan and grew up playing it, so I don't mean to sound like I'm bashing other sports than football, but there just isn't enough general interest in them to fill the time on a 24/7 sports channel. Alright so when there's a big international tournament, like the 6 nations at the moment, then there's more interest, but mid-week during the season, there just aren't enough people who give a shit what's going on in club rugby to fill the time left over after they've finished all the actual "news" from football. Same applies to county cricket, tennis, golf etc. as well. Outside of the big competitions not enough people are interested and there isn't enough breaking news. They now even have netball news on SSN ffs. Who the fuck needs live round the clock netball coverage? Some of the teams in the league are just Uni teams for christs sake. It's a joke.

It works in, for example, America because you have 4 sports that are all very popular. Plus they play so many bloody games - the baseball season is 162 games + playoffs, the basketball and ice hockey are 82 games + playoffs, and OK the NFL is only 16 games but they're all massively supported. So even if there's a slow news day in terms of actual stories to talk about, there's always highlights of last night's games you can show or do build up to games coming up that night etc. In England because there's only games once or twice a week, in between there just isn't enough news to fill the time on your average weekday. So as a result they have to manufacture all kinds of bullshit stories or whatever just to have something to talk about.

Seems kinda strange they keep playing Luiz in a back four as well?

Although he is an Abramovich favourite apparently so maybe there’s pressure to play him (Conte dropped him last season and don’t think they went down too well like a lot of things he did last year lol).

Yeah I take your point. I suppose it comes back to what was being said a couple of weeks ago about it being his job to motivate the players no matter how difficult. I still don't think that means he's out of his depth, I just think he's the wrong match for the dressing room. Like I say though, I reckon if we accept that Sarri and the dressing room are not a good match, I'd be more inclined to change the dressing room rather than the manager at the moment. It's not just Sarri but a succession of top managers who have struggled with this group so clearly the bigger problem lies in the playing staff and club/dressing room culture. Sacking Sarri and bringing in someone to pander to the egos will probably sort them out for the rest of the season, but this time next year they'll be back to square 1 again. If they want to change things long term then they need to rebuild around a solid group of hard-working players and surround them with some of the top talent from their academy rather than farming them out all over the world
Well, if he can't manage the dressing room, he's out of his depth. No slight on him. Maybe it's unmanageable and every would be out of their depth :)

Kante at right midfield? Kante at right midfield?! Kante at right midfield?!! Kante at right midfield?!!! Sarri deserves the sack for that to be honest.

Man City have apologised to Chelsea for playing the Chelsea anthem "One Step Beyond" by Madness after the 6-0 win.

I thought the Chelsea anthem was "Get off the train, you're not white" ?
After the cup final I hope they play always look on the bright side of life!

I just can't feel jealous of themm despite the enormous success they've had. And still, despite this they have no history to speak of. No legacy, nothing.

No point backing Sarri no offence but the geezer is 69... he's not gonna be around to destroy and then rebuild the entire football club

Sarri is not comparable to Scholari. Scholari was a joke at Chelsea. Totally unprepared for the job, emotionally & mentally tuned out the whole time, hopeless at the language, totally at sea in English football culture.

Sarri is none of those things. He's most likely just the latest victim of that odious club's toxic culture.
