Boehly is just asset stripping at this point. Selling off the women's team in order to be able to sign another few wonderkids for 100m each would be pretty gross.

That reads as Chelsea desperately trying to recoup some money from somewhere.
Wouldn't at all surprise me to hear that they find investment in the women's team through some Saudi company or something.

I don't think Boehly is asset stripping, I think he's panicking and clutching at straws to avoid the ffp/psr stuff.
He's dug himself a hole and he's scrabbling to get out of it.

If money going into women's football is written off on PSR then it shouldn't t be allowed to boost PSR through sales

Same as investment in Infrastructure / sale of the same.

How can you declare the profit on the sale if you don’t have to declare the expense.

It's actually disgusting tbh. The women's team have won loads, done very well and they are seen as collateral damage because the lads aren't bringing home enough bacon to cover their costs. Yes, they'll get investors and carry on but still it's a kick in the teeth for those women imho.

corporate America is a huge evil in the word so cut throat and ruthless really doesn’t care.

there is no way they should be able to asset strip the club, I know technically they are not but they are.

i hate Chelsea but this is sad

Some rules there to protect clubs from shitty owners but asset stripping is allowed. It could hurt them way more in the long run though.

Everyone is acting like this deal is done and been approved by the Premier league, it hasn't. Just looks like another desperate shot in the dark to me.
This transaction doesn’t pass a basic sniff test.

Hotspur Way cost £45m in 2012. Since then inflation in construction costs (according to the ONS) has been just under 50%. So the present day replacement cost of Hotspur Way would be roughly £70m.

Hotspur Way is state of the art and by all accounts better than Chelsea’s training ground.

So there’s no credible way of manufacturing a £100m profit by an intra-group sale.

More fundamentally, these intra-group transactions ought to be disallowed.

Real Madrid did something similar back in the day (Sold to the Madrid city at overinflated price), which cleared their debts and allowed them to buy the likes of The original Ronaldo, Zidane, Beckham, Figo https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...stigates-real-madrid-property-deal-72063.html it’s make a complete mockery of the game
At least the Real Madrid was a real sale (albeit at an inflated price that amounted to state aid) not just a paper transaction within a group with no money actually changing hands.
