Some of these idiots are the same ones who were claiming on elons app they’ll help pay for Caicedo. Well, this is the price. You demanded all these ridiculous overpay signings & you got them. Acting this entitled isn’t attractive.

Your club will have spent what will likely be £1bn in 3 transfer windows by the time the week is over. There is no shirt sponsor, a stadium rapidly falling into disrepair & the likelihood that the more lavish spending your club makes that you demand & fawn over will increase the calls on the FA to look into the Saudi’s dual ownership. Club needs all the money it can get. Yeah, there is an economic crisis in the world & the club should be mindful of that but on the flip side, if £10 extra is killing you, you probably shouldnt be following the club everywhere they go in the first place. Save your fight for when they increase your ticket prices tenfold.

Chelsea signing yet another unproven player for huge money. Basically just your average Wednesday.

At this point they'd be better off just starting their own league, they have enough players for it

Elye Wahi rejected the Chelsea move because they wanted to send him on loan to Strasbourg. That's what he told one of my clients.

Glad a player saw through that and decided to go elsewhere to grow his career but they are going to do this a lot and cherry pick the best ones.

They have done this with Deivid Washington so maybe not all young players will see through it.

I actually rate Coe Palmer, but it's silly money (again)

Same as Lavia (and everyone else), they're paying as if they're established quality players, not potential.

Coe Palmer 40m (plus add ons)
James Maddison 40m

Even though I rate Palmer, it's hard to see him ever surpassing Maddisons ability. Yet the fee would suggest otherwise.

Can someone explain to me what this club's deal is?

How can you spend £1billion in 12 months, not have a shirt sponsor, not have champions league, have a stadium with only 40k seats (with a new stadium construction in development hell) and still fall within FFP regulations?

Man United generate far more revenue than Chelsea, have a 75k seat stadium, a huge shirt sponsorship deal, champions league football and haven't spent anywhere near as much as Chelsea over the last 24 months... and they're apparently having trouble balancing the books and trying to sign Amrabat on loan to compensate. You don't see them dropping a lazy £170m on two DMs Caicedo and Lavia.

Like, what am I missing here? How are Chelsea generating income?

I think they know they're fucked, but don't give a shit about the ramifications, as they assume it'll be just a fine, and a transfer embargo. I think they're right.
The powers that be need to throw the book at them.

It is said many times here that they pay alll the transfer money spread over manny years. So there books are balanced every year for FFp.

They also seem to be backed by investors from Saudi Arabia.

Todd Boehly is probably hoping that UEFA succumb to the rising influence of SA in football and turn a blind eye to FFP breaches.

Watch the Simon Jordan clip on talksport

It’s accounting trickery and has been helped by some decent outgoings on player sales

I reckon they will just create a new footballing body eventually!

Palmer is a very good player. They have had a great window.
Time will tell.

As for Palmer, if he was so good, then why has pep got rid of him?

Not sure he's played enough to say whether he is, or isn't. Especially at the highest level.

No margin for error if there are consequences

They've already said after this window they will streamline their football activities. They are hoping to trade their way out.

I have no idea how this works, unless you fire sale your youth. They aren't selling any of their buys at a profit.

Stupid question but Is it true that ffp doesn't impact them when they are not in Europe? It will count as one of the 3 years if they get back in it but they can't be sanctioned this year and the PL ffp is no way near as restrictive
