My question is " the players that were in the last throes of their contract last season were given plenty of chances last season" .
With this influx of players and probably a few more how do they feel now from seemingly going to be given the chance to be first choice players they are now shunted to the back of the queue .I can't see these 60 /70 million pound players that Lampard has purchased OK with sitting on the bench .
Take one player Hudson Odoi he was the target for some of Europes top clubs as he would have been available on a Bosman this season .
In his shoes I would feel conned and would be making noises about the fact .

Am I being unreasonable or prejudiced in regard Rudiger .? The more I see of this bloke the more I think he is a schister in regard to the racist affair . He comes across as a complete tool to me .

Looking at todays game they are going to need some major surgery at the back to be anywhere as good as people think they will be.

They are looking strong in attack with their new signings but they are very bad defensively, individually and as a team. Kante seems to be getting injury prone too.

It boggles my mind that they're looking like spending so much on Havertz when their back line and especially keeper is so dodgy they're in danger of becoming an upmarket version of Ossie's famous five side.

There’s been quite a lot of rumours around that they’re in the market for a new ‘keeper and left-back.
Doesn’t address the rest of their defensive frailties though.

There's plenty of time for them to splurge cash on their defence. FFP is in the bin for now so they've got a free run. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they picked up players like Skriniar and Ruben Dias or any number of other decent prospects. Their youngsters have all been shafted but they'll never learn.

Yes.

He misheard a chant that could easily be mistaken for racist chanting.

One thing that stuck out for me about this Chelsea side, after watching that poxy final and various other games this season, is that they have no spine for a battle.

In quite a few games this season I've seen them come flying out of the blocks and score early, looking like World beaters, but as soon as that initial burst runs out and the opposition gain the initiative, they go to pieces. Put any amount of offensive pressure on them and they fall apart, committing foul after foul in dangerous areas, playing a high line with slow defenders and generally panicking whenever the ball goes into their final third.

Arteta sussed them from minute 1, the long ball over the top and into the channels had Chelsea hitting the panic button virtually every single time. Azpilicuetta was targeted because he's probably their biggest panic merchant and is as slow as they come for a fullback. Alonso is the same, and once you get behind their defence then their CB's are all at sea. They're fairly decent when the ball's in front of them, but clueless when it's coming in from the byline.

Arteta recognised all of this and exploited it mercilessly.

Chelsea will be a threat next season from an attacking sense, but I don't think they'll be anywhere near challenging for the title until they get in a new keeper, 2 new fullbacks/wingbacks and an experienced CB who can marshal the others. Even then I think the defensive coaching might be a bit suss.

They are managed by a complete an absolute novice. The epitome of spoilt and entitled child. That touchline argument in front of an empty stadium with Klopp, jeez.

What I felt about the final was that without Willian there was very little guile and he was sitting on the bench .
I think that Lampard has cut off his nose to spite his face and he left Willian out of the side because he has obviously declined to resign for them . So as a manager do you pick Willian and the team is stronger or you drop him to prove a point . If he dropped Willian to prove some kind of point then he will never be a really successful manager because the best managers always pick the side with the best chance of winning rather than leave someone out to prove a point whether that point is petty or important .

Willian said he was injured:

“I did treatment for the whole week, but unfortunately the pain persists.

“I won't be on the field this time, but I am with my teammates until the end! Come on Blues!!!”

I agree and after watching the final I can see why they are upgrading their attack too.

What a waste of a player Hudson adoi is btw, they massively panicked there giving him a fat contract and it’s drained his motivation. Willian will stay on I reckon, Pedro is gone, lampard seems to have dropped Abraham despite him looking good early season, Mount is ok but is inconsistent. So they need players there.

They’ve got something like 30 players on loan so will be able to raise funds. We really missed a trick not beating them to top 4 but if they don’t sort the keeper and defence they will give us another one next season thankfully.

I must say all these " lets laugh at Chelsea or whoever " are a joke as I dont think we are in a position to poke fun at anyone and if we ever got into a position to be the top dogs regards football then that is even more reason to not poke fun at other clubs as it would show an arrogance and a bully boy attitude not to mention so shallow that its something I would not want to be associated with .
I think a forum that says " give credit for what other clubs have done " would show a bit of class as the " lets laugh at line " just shows insecurity and jealousness .

Impressive first season for Frank Lampard!

•Took Chelsea from 3rd to 4th
•Got six points fewer than Sarri
•Conceded as many league goals as Brighton
•Lost the FA Cup final to an 8th placed Arsenal

I notice that Lampard has been whining that September 12th is too early to start the season because his players won't have had a proper break. Two things spring to mind:
1. Because his team lost at the weekend we have to start back earlier to play Europa qualifiers; and
2. Doesn't he realise that they just had three fucking months off because of covid-19?
