But the result counts and we have already fallen behind by 2 points and there is no sign of improvement of the performance
I think this is harsh. 2 points dropped - no doubt about it

But until their goal we looked pretty slick - they then had a minute flurry, where (frnakly) we shat the bed...and then we took control again.

There are things to fix, for sure. But outside of a short brain fart of a spell, they did the square root of f all because they couldn't.

I'm really annoyed about last night's result. Really annoyed.

But I can also see that we're not too far off.

Worryingly, I'm slightly relying on a 19 year old to add what we're missing out wide, and a couple of 18 year olds to sort midfield. Thankfully, they're very talented. Let's see if have the guts.

It's 2 points dropped. It's frustrating. But I'm not going nuclear yet.

I’m still annoyed because we should have won, and instead we’ve allowed ourselves to be trolled by a player I loathe. It also makes the Everton game a very significant one because with Newcastle and the NLD to follow, we can’t expect to get anything from those two games.

However, I really enjoyed our first half performance and the only issue with us in the 10 minutes before they equalised is that we weren’t clinical with our own chances. Everyone needs to be a bit sharper in and around the opponents penalty area to make us more ruthless, but there was a lot to like about our performance last night.

I’m still annoyed though.

it was weird, our players looked like they were running in mud by the 70th minute where as Leicester went into overdrive. shouldn't happen when we are the ones putting mental and physical pressure on em for like 70% of the match
In a physical sense there's (relatively) not a huge amount of running involved in sitting on the edge of your own box and shuffling 10 yards side to side. This is the modern way of playing. 20 years ago that game would have been end to end and with only three subs legs would have gone after 65 minutes.

Nowadays the players are much fitter, they do less running in the first 60 minutes if they defend deep, and half of the outfield players are fresh off the bench anyway. That's why the 'weaker' Prem sides aren't fussed about trying to score until the last 20 when they can use that pent up energy against a team like Spurs who really have been running hard and are frustrated not to have put the game to bed.

Sorry but following the sales of Dier, Skipp and PEH, Werner has been allocated the role of scapegoat. As such he will be blamed for everything bad this year.
I think you will find there will be other scapegoat candidates such as Johnson and even Sonny before a clear winner is announced. Davies could be a potential Europa League scapegoat too.

We could/should have been more than 1 up at half time. But thinking back on the game - Leicester actually had the 2/3 clearest cut chances which is concerning.

The criticism with werner is unfair but think it stems from the fact he is blocking Moores path on the bench
He’s blocking Moore which ever way you look at it. Moore plays much better on the right than Werner- that can’t be disputed from what we’ve seen. Moore has made a name for himself on the left, and we don’t know what his ceiling is in that position in actual senior gameplay. Ange talks about being brave but he bottled having Moore on the bench - it looked like the perfect match to have him available. We went from having a lovely balance in the first half to looking totally disorganised in the second.

I’m sorry to pick you up on this but we shouldn’t be expecting to lose at home to Arsenal, full stop ! Even when we were bang average in the mid 90s and early 2000s and they had that unbeaten season we weren’t losing regularly at home to them, so a 3rd successive home defeat in 3 seasons is not acceptable. We must literally fight tooth and nail and give it everything to make sure that doesn’t happen….

As with last season, there was a few times during the match where I find myself saying "just fucking shoot" instead of trying to play another 5 passes in the box.

Decent performance, long way to go. COYS

We go again next weekend, have to learn from it etc.
But two games like that and you're not champion, 5-6 of them and you're not top 4.

Its 1 game. They created 1 chance afterwards, it happens

Its football, not the end of the world.
Thing is it keeps happening.. The same thing. Ive never been so scared to go 1.0 up early on in the first halves as I have with Ange as you know if we get to HT 1.0 the other team is going to come back...

As usual, it’s too early to tell how we’ll do this season, and by the time we know, it’ll be too late. The needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before…

I thought of that exact same song this morning.

I haven’t said we shouldn’t fight for a result or accept anything, I’ve said we shouldn’t expect anything. There’s a massive difference. It doesn’t make a defeat ‘acceptable’ or mean we won’t fight for a result, but we’ll be underdogs going into that game, and so - like with our trip to SJP based on recent performances there - defeat is currently the likeliest outcome. There’s a difference between hope and expectation.

i think the biggest disappointment for me yesterday was the brutal realisation that spurs is still spurs.

we want spurs to be spurs when it comes to the attacking style, flair and entertainment.

but we want rid of the spurs being spursy. we want to control games without costly slip-ups, gifting the opposition lifelines etc.

it’s still early though, and hopefully the 2nd part will improve as we grow as a unit

Leicester are a poor side. If they are depending on Vardy, best of luck. It won’t need a points deduction to relegate them. They’ve got very little but we managed to blow it.
The rest of the top 8 will blow them away. And if we don’t get into gear they will do the same to us.
