I think they should have let him play in the friendly on Saturday, he still could have played for us the following weekend.

BAE's off playing for Cameroon though.

Really gutted for King, although good news for the club.

Well done Leadly though for playing well enough to get youreself noticed by the England manager.

Im not big on conspiracies as such but does anyone else think that he was called up in the first place as a kind of 'well done for your performances' message from the England management? Capello isnt stupid and would have known full that he wouldnt be able to train and or play in both games, so i do feel that he was called up to give a pat on the back for his level of performance this year.

Am i completely off the mark with that?

It also coincides with our resurgence up the league table!

Although disappointing, its good to know that common sense has prevailed and that football fans and Management across the spectrum have now acknowledged that Ledders is King of defenders!! :hump:

You could be right but I doubt if Cappello has time for sentiments.

Could have been a Letting Ledley Know He's Noticed How Well He's Been Playing call-up... I still think he could have played against Slovakia as it fitted in with him playing every weekend...

Ledley has it made.... doesn't need to train and only plays once a week and collects £50,000 a week! would love that

What would be the point in taking such a risk?

It's actually less of a risk than it is to play him in a Premiership game as this England game is only a friendly.

I think it was selfish on our part to deny the lad another England cap and a chance to represent his country because there might not be many of them chances for him again.

He's been playing once a week and him playing the friendly this Saturday still would have allowed him to play for us the following weekend.

Sorry Ledders but I'm pleased about this and NO leave Woody alone!!!!
agreed

Obviously sad news for Ledley, good for Spurs.

About Woody, we all know he ain't made of steel so a rest will only do him good for the finishing games of the Premiership.
