What's the odds we let Ledders go at the end of the season and he plays a long streak of games like Woody for his new club?

Club legend, best defender we have, when fit best player we have.

but if he cant play regularly then we should let him go and replace him. If he plays the same amount of games this season as last season then his time is up for me.

Woodgate hasnt even made the bench today btw and he certainly hasnt played a long streak of games as has been rested in every euro game as well. Hope he does well but lets not go over board just yet

Feels like a totally different team whenever he plays. Safe and calm defensive play. Most important defender we have.

He is just class. Took a while to get into the game but in the second half he strolled through it untroubled.

Plus he makes the rest of our defenders play better too just by being there alongside them. Like I said previously, still first name on the teamsheet for me when he is fit.

my former sunday team had the same situation. We had a player who really was a top centre back. Struggled with his back so couldnt play many games. every now and then.

But whenever he played things were just so much more calmer across the back 4. You could always hear him talking, saying little things that just install so much more convidence into the side. 9-10 games we would keep a clean sheet. And im sure this is the case when ledders plays at the back for us.

For me Ledley is better than Rio or JT when fit. A real shame for club and country his injuries have held him back. He's just awesome, i'm not sure i have ever seen him have a bad game. But, with Gallas and Bassong being old or useless, and Kaboul and Dawson not looking any good as a partnership, we need him to play 20 games minimum and if he can't, perhaps he should call it a day and work on the staff tutoring Caulker, who could be some boy. We need a real class CB who can line up every week, i mean, when will he be able to play again?

Still by far our best player when fit.

Second half was like he had been playing week in week out. Just strolled through it. Like Pleat said, the game is just too easy for him.

Unbelievable for somebody who hasn't had a proper pre-season for about 7 years!

King & VDV are our best players, closely followed by Modric & Bale.

Modric is a different level to VDV imo. King and Modric are the 2 best with Adebayor, VDV and Bale all the next level down i think

Not sure about that.

King is in the top 5 players in his position in the world where as none of the others are.

I think Bale will be at that level with a bit more time and I think Mods, VDV and Ade are about the same level and are unlikely to really improve much more. VDV is class, have no doubts, he is just playing in a team that relies very heavily on him. If he was able to stay further forward and still get the ball he would score even more goals but would also create. As it is, he drops deep because he never gets the bloody ball.
