A joy to see him playing this season. If he plays enough games to earn his new contract then we are in for a hell of a season.

How is he doing it?! How is he suddenly able to play so regularly?

Do you think he's gone 'sod it, I want the glory' and given himself one last season of agony where he rules with Spurs but will leave him unable to play again after?

Best challenge I ever saw him make was against Norwich about 5/6 years ago.

Huckerby through on goal and Ledders made up a good 15 yards to catch him and nick the ball before he shot. Superb player and legend.

Would he still be here if his knees were OK? I doubt it.

Someone said on one of these threads, following his interview last week, that the 20 games this season thing was not true. I didn't see the interview being in France, can anyone confirm that?

even though parker and ade have made such a diffderence to our winning form in the last 9 games, i think ledley playing made an even bigger difference. We would have lost some of those games he had been rested

Leadley has said he is covering a quarter of the distance per game that he used to since Parker signed for us. That's 75% less wear and tear, so in theory he should be able to play alot more, provided he doesn't get a knock. Parker has been so instrumental in so many ways, I don't see to many o the "we don't need him" or "he's no better than Wilson" brigade anymore. Anyone who doubted obviously doesn't watch any football outside of he Spurs games.

He's the best CB in the Prem. Anyone who watches him play enough would agree. Better than Vidic, Terry, Ferdinand...

He deserves a new contract. He's a beast, a leader, a hero

A legend

Let me absolutely clear when I say this.

Ledley King is the best defender in the premier league and quite honestly I don't think there's anyone better than him across Europe....equally as good, sure, but not better. I don't think any other man could've continued to play at the level he's at with the issues he has with his knees.

He is magnificent and I wanna be dead serious when I say that a statue of him should be placed outside of our new stadium once it's built (along with a Bill Nic one too obviously).

I have to hold my hands up and say that about 18 months ago I was one on here, along with a few others questioning wether he could still do this for us. Not questioning his ability to play and read the game, as I always knew that he was one of the best. More questioning was it worthwhile financial wise, squad place wise, to keep on giving him a new contract beause he just could never get fit enough.

I am so glad I have been proved wrong. The guy is superhuman, as I have said, I have never questioned him as a defender, he is the best there is, had he been constantly fit, he would be playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid, of that I have no doubt as there is none better in world football. Between him Parker and Adeybayor, these are the main reasons that we are on this amazing run.

So I am happy to hold my hands up and apolgise for ever doubting King Ledley.

It's either that or the one on Robben whilst we were 1-0 down against Chelsea the day we finally beat them.

That's quite an interesting point. Having Parker doing his running for him is probable the factor that has seen Ledders play so many consecutive games for us (so far).

And yes, hands up, I was one of the fools claiming that Parker would be a pointless signing. I said the same of Friedel too.

Probably the reason why I drive buses for a living, and Harry Redknapp is a football manager!

Actually I think it was 0-0 just then, and Chelscum scored on the following corner.
Still one of the best defensive "skills" i ever have seen.
