I'm worried we're all pace and power in the middle and lacking technique. And no Tom Carroll is not the answer.

Who's the player to play the assist to the assist? I'm surprised with Wanyama and Dier in the squad we didn't go for a playmaker CM instead of a runner. We need someone to make that slide rule pass into the front four. We'll do well this season no doubt but I think this is going to hold us back.

Trust in Pochettino nevertheless but I think we're lacking this to become a truly top team...

There's gotta be another little Croatian dude out there we can pinch

Maybe. But Poch's system rests more on full backs and crosses than through balls..e.g i can't remember the last time we saw a Drinkwater>Vardy or Fabregas>Costa type goal. We aren't really a counter attacking team with pacey/willing runners.

True but i'm not necessarily talking about a 30 yard ball to Kane i'm referring to the intelligence to slide the ball into Eriksen or Lamela (or Kane) on the floor that really opens up the pitch. Or a sprayed ball out wide. Can't see either of Dier / Wanyama or Sissoko doing that with great, consistent effect, which does negate some of the full-backs effectiveness if you can't pick out that bursting run.

If we keep on playing Wanyama and Dier in the middle things aren't going to get better

Poch needs to address the problem or at least acknowledge it

Sooner or later we will have to play Winks or Onomah or Carroll

Or, you know, just play Dembele when he's done his suspension...

Most of them have gone to Italy but Coric is still at Dinamo.. I'm sure his name will feature prominently in January.

As for Spurs, it's too soon to tell. Eriksen and Dembele are silky players. Sissoko and Wanyama are strong players. Dier and Alli can be both, Lamela as well. N'Koudou is an unknown. Rose and Walker will be very important in any formation and provide width and pace. We need to find a way of getting Kane and Janssen into scoring positions because so far, chances have been few and far between - especially for Kane. Janssen could/should have scored a couple by now.

Most of the games in the PL can be won with pace and power but we do definitely have players to unlock the deep-lying defensive teams. Just now have players to out battle them as well.

When we at our best last season the midfield literally rotated in and out of a fulcrum point in the centre. Eriksen, Alli and Dembele all took a turn which also meant they spent time in their less favoured spots. I had hoped that Eriksen would make the tenspot his own but it has not come to pass. Funny enough two young Aussies, Aaron Mooy at Huddersfield and Tommy Rogic at Celtic both possess a creative touch where they see the pass to open the defence. Mooy is owned by Man City and is on loan to the championship side. We may find out if he is EPL material next year because Huddersfield are top at the moment. Rogic will be getting ECL time.
Having so much muscle in the Spurs line up is clearly making a few uncomfortable but I hope Poch can get the balance right

A runner !!! if you mean Sissoko, he was bought as an attacking midfielder so that's him out of the equation.
So if we bought someone with a bit of guile who would he play instead of ? Dembele ? not going to happen, so he'd be on the bench, therefore we might as well use Wink's as the creator.

This is exactly the reason why we desperately needed someone like Isco. A player like him is now the difference between us getting into the top 4 vs coming in at number 6 - 8.

That ship has sailed, and although he is not the same type of player, we still have Dembele to come back in and add to that midfield stability.

Haven't you guys worked it out yet. Our guile comes mainly from the 3 behind the main striker i.e. Eriksen Lamela Alli and others can of course chip including Tom Carroll Onomah Son N'Koudou etc.

We also now have the option of pace and dribbling abilities which will create more space and openings.

Think people also play down Dier's ability on the ball, the kid has great vision and as he get increasingly confident with that we'll see him excell even further.

As others have said I think the guille is intended to come from the front three.

Dembele has guile but he doesn't have the vision or awareness to go with it.

Well Rose and Walker better learn how to cross then.
