I actually wouldn't mind it happening. I'd go down in history as being someone who funded their country's weapons of mass destruction via me buying Spurs tickets
This is a tough one and really should this kid have all this in his head. Our own government already does far some pretty horrible things supporting various regimes around the world that kill oppress civilians

Makes me laugh when people worry about how our image will look if we sign a North Korean. We've signed players from the US & Russia and they've been far more destructive to the global community and no one has batted an eyelid. The only question I would be asking would be with Son and making sure he was ok with it. A destructive impact on anyone in the squad would have more effect than anything externally.

FWIW North Korean news isn't as big in South Korea as it is in the rest of the world, considering they've had to put up with their noisy neighbours for decades now. I don't think Son would really mind having a North Korean teammate. People are just over thinking things

Koreans from both North and South still view themselves as Koreans first and foremost

There's also more of a desire to unify the country again than many people in the West realise

Certainly the relationship between North and South is strained, but it's far from all out hatred!

The problem with North Korea is the regime and its abominable human rights violations, not its people. I'd welcome a player from any country.

Well they are still officially at war so things aren't exactly hunky dory.

They are on different sides of a conflict and could both theoretically be called up to national service to fight against each other. Would be such a weird dynamic to bring into a dressing room

My girlfriend (who is South Korean) used to flat share with a woman who had escaped from North Korea, and they got along just fine so I suppose it just depends on the people involved

Lived in SK and have many SK friends. From my experience South Koreans do not harbor bad feelings toward North Koreans. If anything they are empathetic. A decent sized population have family across the border as well. So wouldn’t be some heated battle between the two IMO.

I'm probably completely wrong, but I have a feeling there actually is something in this...
