Yeah, the lack of a long term financial commitment gives us a lot more flexibility in the market. Seems like a win-win to me provided there's always an option to buy included.

It’s not used much in England but I don’t think it’s any surprise we’d be one of the first clubs to really embrace it.

Piatek seems like the right profile for a back-up striker in that he's universally described as "physically/technically limited, but a natural goalscorer". That seems about right for what we need.

This summer I'd be looking to replace Moura with a wing forward type who can credibly deputize as a CF, like Marcus Thuram. Then we'd really have a nice collection of options upfront.

Pretty sure I've read that he's already turned them down once!
They've been friend-zoned, they just cant accept it.

This seems to be the new Levy modus operandi for riskier signings like Piatek and Gedson. A longer loan with a higher initial fee, hence more of an incentive for the seller to accept, but also still leaving us an 'out' after a reasonable period of the player turns out to be shitturd. Levy has clearly been stung by the amount of deadwood we got stuck with under Poch.

Hopefully Milan bite. I would be much much happier with this outcome than a straight up fee or an obligation.
Yes, a loan is probably the right deal. Cause I really fear this guy might flop. With our almost tradition with striker flops like Soldado, Llorente and Janssen, I fear this guy could be our next Floppy.

Fernando did a decent job for us and played a vital role in us making the CL final.

Llorente did pretty much the job we bought him for and he did it pretty well. Not sure he can be classed as a flop!?

I remember when the default loan lengths were 12 months for a summer transfer and 6 months for a winter transfer.

Fuck it, let’s sign the bastard on a 54 month loan.
