Another name that has popped up this morning is Willian José. 28 year old Brazillian striker currently playing at Real Sociedad. A striker that knows how to play on the wings or as a second striker as well. Currently on 8 goals in La Liga and has clocked 10+ goals every season these last 3 years.

This is according to el Diario Vasco who is THE paper concerning the Basque clubs and has connections in all of them. According to them we are very interested and have fielded an opening bid. They are not super keen on selling him but they will for the right price (or we fork out his 70 mil release clause but realistically they will sell for cheaper if given a fair price).

A bit our of the blue but he is quality and Diario Vasco are reputable. A perfectly fine option to Piatek.

Yes, but they are also a bit of a "talent factory". It is their business model to sell a player on when bigger clubs come calling. But the article also says that they are not too keen to sell him in January but will for the right price. And they were very open in the summer about the signing of Alexander Isak being in preparation for Willian leaving eventually.

Back to the player, having watched YouTube clips again, I actually think he’ll be a good fit for us. See similarities with Kane, not as polished, but the same hunger and work ethic, uses his body well to create space from defenders.
Milan seem to be actively pushing him now, I can see this happening.

Definitely a player in a similar mold. Decently big, powerful but got some skills to him. On paper he would suit Mourinhos style of football pretty well.

Would anyone here take Mario Balotelli? His club president said last month that he could leave on a free this month and although he probably wasn't being totally serious about leaving for nothing he probably is available at the right price.

I doubt there is enough room in the same dressing room to contain his and Jose's egos..

Every few days there is a new name that we are linked to & as every day ticks by the window gets closer to ending, all pointing towards a deadline day panic as a result of spending weeks trying to find the right player

I’m still of the opinion all these names being linked are to try and rattle Milan into bending to Levy’s offer. As the window draws near, he’ll just pay what they were asking two weeks ago, but by which time we’ll have dropped more points. Piatek has been the semi constant name linked all window, and Mourinho has made too much noise about a striker for Levy not to deliver one.
May move quicker once Eriksen is done, could be linked to HG quota.

HG quota is definitely an issue if my math is right. Which is probably why he is trying to include Foyth/Wanyama in a deal as well as was rumored 2 weeks ago or so. Not sure if Gedson counts as U21 or if he took the last available foreign slot.

The moment Eriksen to Inter is done we will see someone in.
