Yet every other club barring us has more than 1 recognised striker! From a footballing perspective the way things are run is an absolute disgrace.

But following your reductive logic and opinion of Son (inferred) liverpool don't even play with a striker. Under any metric or system Firmino is a 10 at best. And Origi is certainly no better than Son.

It's not purely the player we have that's the problem. It's the system. And part of that is having a player who at least was, for a couple of years, the outstanding centre forward of his generation.

I think we should be looking for a number 9 who could also play with Kane. Someone like Timo Werner can play as either a WF or a 9, just as Kane can play as a 9 or a 10. If both are fit you could play both - Kane dropping into the hole behind Werner, or play a front three of Kane, Son (or Moura) and Werner (with Werner on the right), similar to how Liverpool play Firmino, Mane and Salah. Might also give Kane some genuine competition and see him go up another level. Why keep looking stop gaps when we need a proper strategic plan - it's not like Kane has an impressive ever present record.

Werner played 900 mins as winger in last 2 seasons(and he is much worse playing there not striker). If Mourinho doesn't want to play Son or Lucas as striker he won't play recognised striker as a winger.

Totally agree. Kane is over played in my opinion. Hence why he keeps getting injured. We never learn. We need at least two strikers and a bit of rotation is needed to help kane stay in tip top shape

With the greatest respect, as far as i can remember all of Kanes longer term injuries have been ankle related, which he has caused himself by diving into challenges and basically trying too hard. Nothing to do with over playing. And even his latest injury has been described as a freak injury by a specialist and not due to fatigue.

That's not to say that i don't think we need another striker btw, although unlike 90% of posters i actually think it's incredibly difficult, bordering on impossible to get someone in who's good enough for us, yet happy to play 2nd fiddle to Kane.....but then also not hamper Parrotts' progress.

Going by yesterday's game, and the glaringly obvious need for a striker in the box, with Parrott injured I'd even be tempted to give Etete some minutes!
I'm sure he's not yet ready but he's quite a big lad and somebody is better than nobody.
Lucas and Son cannot play up top in Jose's system. How many times did we get in a position to cross the ball yesterday but had no one taking up space in the box?

Parrott injured?
Wasn't it said he was injured and hasn't regained full fitness? I may be wrong but I can't see any other reason that he isn't at least on the bench at present.

I have a feeling we will get in Luka Jovic - may not be the powerhouse that Jose likes but think RM would be keen on getting him out on loan for abit - ZZ doesnt appear to rate him. To make the link - I think he is better han Piatek and doesnt necessarily commit us

That’s a dreamland I’d love to be a part of.

People talk about running Kane into the ground but most of that is down to Kane. He wants to play every game and I'm not surprised we play him when he wants too. Messi plays most games for Barca as well. The difference is Kane puts himself about a lot more and puts himself in danger of injury. Does he play much more than Son when available? I'm not sure he does and Son has to travel half way around the world to play for South Korea.

I would look to sign a striker that can partner Kane rather than a hold up player/target man. Paitek sounds like he could play off Kane with Kane dropping off as a 10. That would at least give us the option of 2 up front but if Kane gets injured we still have Piatek to lead the line.

The thing is, our players are shiftable, even the reserves, don't tell me no one would buy Wanyama for a fair price. Levy is the reason why can't shift anyone out, charging x3 the price on every player.
