But we have no strikers. Not one. One is better than having no player at all.
Son has played there before and done a decent job.

I am not against buying a striker but we know that most signings take time to settle in so getting someone to make an impact this season is unlikely to get the results we want.

I would rather muddle through with Son, Moura and Parrott than make a permanent signing that isn't who the manager wants long term.

I have no problem with a loan signing but I would say for this season Llorente might be our best bet as settling in time will be minimised.

Imagine my lolz about the fact that a number of people are basically begging for another Nelsen and Saha January.

Apparently Spurs, champions league runner up, 4 time straight CL qualifier, one of the richest clubs on earth, managed by Jose Mourinho, and possessing potentially the best stadium/training ground combo in Europe cannot dare to have a backup striker.

The tyranny of low expectations from the boardroom and fans will bury this club

Pretty much every manager under ENIC ownership has had an entire second XI of equal/acceptable quality, often including 3 or 4 strikers. The fact is that Poch simply didn't build the squad with the same concept in mind. We never had a backup for anyone in the team, bar maybe GK when Vorm was half decent, and LB, and based on his own soundbites it was due to being incapable of managing that expectation of rotation etc. He bought Janssen and didn't play him, brought in Llorente and didn't play him unless it was absolutely necessary or a pointless 10 mins where we'd never play to his strengths. He didn't renew Llorente because it's apparently more fun to pretend wingers can stand in for a player like Kane who is nothing like anyone else in the squad.

Give the club/JM time and I'm sure we'll have decent squad options again.

My dream signing would be Chiesa. But I'd hope that Zapata or Immobile would be achievable. Expensive, but achievable. We all love Kane, but his form isn't immune to fairly significant dips, so we need someone established and proven to step in.

Like Jose said you can’t turn son or Lucas into a 9 the type of 9 he wants so you might as well delete that lol

If our interest is genuine then for once we just need to pay up and get a sodding deal done.

Every game we play without a striker is a missed opportunity. As we’ve seen today, the rest of the top 4 contenders can, and will, drop points. We have to be able to capitalise.

The fact we can’t due to having no striker is a direct effect of Poch and Levy’s negligence in previous windows, but the situation is now desperate.

Either pay the damn money or get a loan in.
To be fair to Poch (and Levy), we were always perfectly fine with Son up top when Kane was out. José wants to play a different way so wants a second centre forward and now is the first opportunity since he's come in to get one.

The insane thing is that as gash as we are currently, we still have a decently good run in in the league, the FA Cup is in play, and we have a decent draw in UCL.

We’re going to get Lloris, Davies, and
Ndombele back. Plus in February, Mourinho will have a two week period to finally focus on training the squad. We’re can still compete and achieve in all competitions, just need some help from the illustrious transfer committee.

We would probably still be very good with Son as striker. But at this moment we are playing with offensive when everyone is under form(not counting Lo Celso as played deeper).

Not really when talking short term.

Ourselves, City, Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are all wealthy with CL aspirations but haven't bought anyone. That's because getting players of the quality we want in January is tough, especially when looking for a specific position.

I would rather Moura and Son as strikers for the rest of the season ahead of buying a Championship striker, which is the weird idea I was responding to.

I can understand why we won't commit to buying Piatek and just want a loan - he's basically a poacher, right?

If Bournemouth go down, we might fancy a shot at someone like Callum Wilson as backup who, has had injury problems.

Personally I'd go after Mitrovic - the argument of 'who would sit on the bench?' has been proven every season to be pointless. Kane gets injured every season. WIth CL progression we have 50-60 games to play, and if we had anyone decent we could use a second striker tactically, rather than just for rotation or 'backup' or whatever.

Keen to loan Piatek - no, we will be left with no striker when loan expires.

Keen to buy Piatek - no, the player is shit.

Looking at Cavani - no, he would not wanna be a back up to Kane when he returns.

Looking at Championship strikers - no, Levy is a fucking cheapskate and that player will be useless to be Kane's backup.

Looking at brining Llorente back - no, would rather the canteen chef to play upfront.

Play Son and/or Lucas - no, rather take Deeney.

Buy Deeney - no, he's a cheat, always falling.

Looking at other strikers - no, the club should hurry up ffs.

Keen to loan Barbosa - no, we will be left with no striker when loan expires

Transfer window's over - the club is shit in purchasing striker. Would have been so much better getting Zaha.

Mitrovic please. Rather we just give Parrott a chance that being said I think we need to get another wing striker.

No thanks, fucking horrible player. All he does is buy free kicks and scrap for goals. Ugly football.

Thats JM all over Ugly football, Chelsea were the worst teams ever in terms of good football, but after years people only remeber the Trophies, but thats JM all over ... I dont agree with it in terms i dont want to see that as much as you as much as any spurs fan, but the reality is thats what we are stuck with . Piatek a No 9 holdup target man, not the best not the worst but defo talent in there that 'COULD' be improved yes its all relative but we have JM, remit even if no one accepts this is some silverware forget the style the glamour ad glory, that was the silent statement made by the Levy and Joe Lewis by getting in Jose, we have to let go of the glamour for silverware. Problem is we are where we are, ive crossed everything possible and pray its a gamble that pays off no matter how laborious and pain stacking it it is

Although is Grand Papi Joe Lewis wants some sparkle and fireworks too then just pump some green in Cavani , i dont believe it ups too Levy even, Levy puts forth whats within his remit from what Lewis has allowed him to play with, thats the benefit of Lewis, peple and world always say the buck stops at Levy but he can only play within what hes allowed and he has to be the face and take the brunt of the crap regardless, benefit of being the real top man aka Lewis

Its absolutely absurd the amount of people who genuinely think its fine that Kane doesn't have a backup. We're ruining him due to the fact we have no one to rotate him with.

People keep saying this but forget that he had a performing Eriksen operating behind him and also popping up with goals. He doesn’t have that now. It’s a completely different situation. Plus Son has been in poor form for months. He’s had one good performance against Burnley but that’s it.
