Some need to calm down. We have Son and Lucas capable of playing as a striker and both better than most backups out there. Buying players due to injuries is how you end up with a bloated squad that will prevent future business.

I'd say proper fullbacks are way more important than a backup striker, as even when everyonyones fit we have none good enough.

I have been saying this for a while and I believe we should buy a player that cannot only cover Kane but in addition play with him. Preferably with pace. Who can stretch defences and can play other positions. My dream player would be Timo Werner

Neither Llorente or Janssen could play with Kane and whenever they played together with him we looked awful. We have to stop thinking back up!

I'd go for this bloke - Alassane Plea - we were linked strongly a couple of windows back and the move never materialised.

Can play all across the front line but particularly as CF.

Telegraph (who after the Jose news) definitely have contacts have said Milan have raised both the loan fee and the transfer they wanted because they know we are desperate. Can't say I blame them it's exactly what you would expect them to do.
If only we had some foresight that an injury to one player would lead to us getting bent over if we tried to sign a replacement.

Going to be a long few weeks isn't it

The flaw in that logic is that Levy simply won't pay an artificially and opportunistically inflated fee so Milan won't get the deal they wanted.

Unless they're stupid they'll realise that.

Ship probably sailed. No chance at all to get him in winter.

Accept your point re levy but when dealing with prem clubs the foreign ones know they can demand a premium and even more so when it's a striker. Personal opinion is that we will sign a striker so even if Milan raise the price I'm not 100% convinced that it means the end of interest because we are that desperate

This is a bit unfair in this case. Pochettino saw Son and Lucas as reasonable backup to Kane, and was happy to use them there if necessary. Jose thinks otherwise.

Zaha for me. Knows the league. Is ready to perform now. Rather than in a few years time

Can play with Kane and enable Son or Moura to play up top instead of Kane and not leave us short of pace and trickery on the wing.

Plus doesn’t stifle Parrot coming through in the next year or so.

or if not Zaha, a player that can do a similar role.

Son is perfectly capable back up. Aubamerang plays CF for Arsenal and has a similar stature to Son. I would argue Son is actually a more complete player.

The major difference is Mourinho wants to play hoof ball where as Arteta is happy to play football through the thirds.
