From the BBC:

More on the AC Milan players walking off during a friendly against Pro Patria because of racist chanting. Kevin Prince Boateng was in possession on the left wing in the 26th minute, suddenly picked the ball up and smashed it towards the stand behind him.
The Ghana midfielder then tore off his shirt and walked off the field at the opposite end. On his way, he applauded other sections of the crowd, who then appeared to react angrily towards the corner of the ground from which the chants came.
Pro Patria's Dario Alberto Polverini attempted to talk to Boateng as he departed, but the midfielder carried on walking and the rest of the players and officials followed him off the pitch.

It's good to see some players finally doing this, it creates a stern message that racism wont be tolerated and I hope other players follow suit across the other leagues.

Good to see it being supported by the boardroom as well:

AC Milan director Umberto Gandini on Twitter: "Very proud of the Milan players who decided to walk off the pitch today for racist abuse from few idiots! No racism, no stupidity!"

Good on the teams for walking off, that kind of behaviour is completely disgusting and the club will deserve to lose every penny of their impending £35 fine from UEFA.

Truly and honestly makes me sick. I'm ashamed of being Italian every time I see this bollocks. Hooliganism in Italy is already shit with the whole ultra thing but adding racism to the mix just makes it a hell of a lot worse. Fair play to Milan for walking off, more clubs need to do this.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the Italian FA fines Milan for abandoning a game... (n)

Can't wait until this happens in a big game and forces FIFA to actually do something. I imagine we could see a fair bit of this in Russia for the World Cup if things don't get sorted!

Well done KPB and well done the rest of the Milan players. Uefa are obviously shit, so can't be trusted to do anything, last news I read on them, they were going to mount an appeal against themselves over that joke Serbia punishment.
All the players must start doing this now and hope next time it happens in England match they will do it too.

The idiot of a Mayor in charge of the town where the team are from blamed KPB for booting the ball at a fan and the officials for not doing anything. Nevermind the fact that the fan was hurling racist abuse in the first place...

Just saw it on Italian tv and he doesn't say anything about the racism, just says "well it wouldn't have happened if Boateng hadn't lost his temper, he should've been sent off for that. In any other stadium he would've been."

What a twat.

He sounds like an employee of UEFA.

Yeah they're based in Busto Arsizio which is right near Milan anyway. The town is a hotbed for right wing politics. Lega Nord and Forza Italia (Berlusconi's party, who is a racist and detestable prick in himself) are strong in that part of the country. The Mayor represents Lega Nord.

Lega Nord believe in seperating the Northern provinces of Italy from the South. They claim it's on the basis of economic strength but it's just a racist motive. Italy's racism problem isn't just to do with people who aren't white or Italian, it's with their own countrymen as well.

The actual Pro Patria team have got to get a lot of credit.

Twice, certain players went up to their own fans pleading for the abuse to stop, but it continued.

What's that saying? It takes courage to stand up to your enemies. But true courage is standing up to your friends.

Some gay shit like that - but it runs very true here.

Good, about time. Absolute respect for him doing that. Someone had to do something because the governing body obviously thinks it's acceptable.
