because Dawson plays for a good attacking team that has the lions share of ball and territory in most games, he already plays football more akin to international that the rest on that list anyway. He has to contribute more to possession and attacking football that they ever do. He has long spells where he’s not involved in the action compared to the others which puts a different Even when England play the best teams in the WC wed still be in possession of the ball and on the front foot more than West ham or Stoke or Bolton. Dawson good form this year actually points towards him being much better suited to international football than the best of the rest.

As for King? He doesn’t have to play 7 games in 28 days he might not need to play one but if Rio or Terry got a knock or a suspension in the semi final.. who out of all the CB’s available would you trust to bring straight into a final? Ledley King. That’s a dramatic scenario but it would apply to any of the knock-out rounds and King is the only correct answer. Fans of teams that hate us say King is the best let alone a plethora of pundits, managers and journalists.

I think King is going, I think in Capello’s mind King has always been going. Why do I think that? Because Cappello is superb at his job.

This I agree with.

Whcih is why Capello took KIng along to the trainging session, or whatever it was 18 or so months ago even though King couldn't do anything at the time.

Capello, waxed lyrical about how good King was/could have been and if he was in anyway fit, he would be foolish not to include him.

Obviously these are not quotes, and I may be remembering things that were not even said, but that is the way that I saw it.
