you know what I mean smart arse ? - an inferior league

To be fair, though, if you're a Premier League team and you buy a player who isn't from another Premier League team, the odds are overwhelmingly that that player will come from an inferior league. So we either have to restrict our purchases to players from three or four top tier leagues or trust our ability to spot a player from a lesser league. A year after we signed Rocha from Portugal, we signed Luka Modric from Croatia - whose league is significantly inferior to Portugal's. Enough said.

It's not the league that matters. Only the player. If we sign Kim Min-Jae, we just have to hope that our scouts have done their jobs thoroughly and well.

Looks like this trail has gone cold. He hasn't featured in a fixture since 1st of August. No official news that he's injured

Why does it mean that the trail has gone cold? If anything it could just as easily mean the opposite. And it’s only one game he’s missed.

Shouldn't mean anything. He's missed two games so far. Only featured once and subbed at 78 mins.

He’s only missed one game since 1st August is what I was saying, and they’ve only had one game since then.
It was more a reference to you saying the trail had gone cold, as that didn’t seem to have any basis because he missed a game.

I do wonder if this had stalled due to the rumoured discussions around Skriniar /Ndombele exchange. Only need one additional CB.

We’ve had ITK recently saying it’s gone from ‘deal very close’ to ‘50/50’ and ‘complications his end’.

We’ve been linked to both Skriniar and Sarr (CB) since the deal for Min-Jae was reported as close.

As per Hercs comments yesterday that Jose has circa 5 ‘priorities’, I wonder if we’re looking to reallocate the M-J finds elsewhere which would explain picking up the likes of Sarr on a free instead or potentially swapping Ndombele for Skriniar.

I'd hazard a guess it'll be payment (structure/total) to the club his side and the finding of a replacement - think that league is currently between windows, isn't it?

I think we’ll go for Kim if the Skriniar swap doesn’t happen. So probably happen later in the window.
We haven’t been linked to Malang Sarr at all so far though-just Ismaela Sarr at Watford.
