Real won 4 CL in 5 years and they didn't have left-footed centerback since 2010 so I wouldn't worry about that :)
Barcelona with Puyol and Pique, Bayern with Hummers and Boateng, the list goes on. It’s a really overrated issue.

I still like Foyth and think there's a lot of potential there. A loan move would be ideal for him, as he desperately needs games to improve.
I'm certainly not writing him off because I reckon he's got everything required to make it, he just needs to play.
Totally agree. People are writing him off far too early. He needs a loan.

[QUOTE="I don't think people want another 4 or 5 years of being fluffers for other teams. We might get players with 3 or 4 seasons left in them, but perhaps we should try and win stuff within the next 3 or four seasons, rather than buy young potential and hope to be trying to win something in 3 or 4 seasons.

Problem is that at this point we’re nowhere near winning anything. It’s not like we’re one experienced center back away.

We need a CB, a DM, 2 FBs and another striker/WF at a minimum.

I’m not convinced 90M on one CB with no future value is the right play unless we have another 100M sitting in the bank ready to spend. That said, I’d be more than happy to have argue that point vs not getting anyone.

People need to get used to the idea of a rebuild because we've put ourselves into a corner. I spent half the season arguing with people who were dead against a transition period and felt a new manager would fix everything that its inevitable. A signing like Koulibaly fixes things when youre looking for that missing piece but frankly we have a couple of dead certs, then a few players with potential made up mostly of our new signings and then the rest is a squad of uncertainties which needs to be either moved on or transitioned into bench players.

Time to face a reality that success will either be on the end of a fortunate run or at the end of yet another rebuild.

I usually take what the ITKs say at face value, but this time I have my own reliable sources who are members of Napoli and they state categorically this is no go for various reasons.

Fair enough then, you’ve showed your hand.

He’ll either be with us by the end of the month or you won’t be ? ??

Sounds like Lester are in for Demiral around the 30M area. I sure trust their scouts a lot more than ours. Obviously a different stage in his career, but wonder if that’s a deal that makes a lot more sense and allows us to spread some cash around to our other needs.

if Koulibaly was so good why hasn’t anyone decent come in for him. I’ve seen Napoli play and he is error prone. He isn’t the fastest either. If VVD is your measure this guy doesn’t cut the mustard.

Where is the proof he is second best CB in the world? Answer the fucking question!

Mate you have a tendency to hyperbole that can be breath taking at times. So I should believe you because you say so? Sorry, your opinion hasnt impressed me in the past and doesn’t impress me now.
If he’s not good enough for Mrs Jones........

Even with Koulibaly , a CDM is still essential at Napoli they have Allan who is similar in mould to Kante . Personally Koulibaly and Toby would be a good partnership (not sure if them both being right footed may be an issue).. But in all seriousness without a CDM , no point in buying a world class CB.
I'd rather spend the money on Allan then and back Toby and Sanchez to be better with better protection

I really don't know where this team is heading right now, nor how to fix it in a short space of time. Too many issues.

Buying KK, if we are, for that matter, seems a bit weird given his age and price tag - I'm just envisaging major problems down the line when the signing goes tits up.

I'd much rather go all out for Ben White, even though I've never seen him play :cautious:.

All jokes aside, Fazio according to reports is a very good CB in Italy.

Are we sure that KK is going to adapt to the EPL?

VVD to be fair came from Scotland so adjusted seamlessly
I always reckoned Fazio was a good CB but he was a defending CB and just not cut out for our highline system.

Sounds like we've asked and they aren't selling.
I've heard this line before.
We tried but we couldn't get it over the line.

Thing is he plays for Argentina - so where's ho going on "loan" that would be acceptable for him? It's not the Championship - makes it difficult. Maybe a Valencia or something?

Totally agree that he shouldn't be written off - think he's a talent. Just got so many mistakes in him at this stage.
