Everytime I see him in the middle of the park he looks pretty damn silky for a defender.

When King is back, I say why not?

Gibbs, i agree with you for once. I said the same thing from his first game for us, looks good on the ball, modile gets stuck in and does (most of the time) track his man. He could realy be the player we need to control the midfeild.

I also believe Kaboul would be a great midfielder, but I also believe he is a great defender if the new management get the right tactical organisation. We conceded a lot of goals because of tactical errors, and that did not make it easy for the defence either.

Kaboul and Zokora in central midfield would be an interesting combination. I also would like to see Zokora and Boateng. Maybe even Ghaly will have a chance when the new management arrives.

The only possible way this could have anything to do with tactics is that you could possibly say Kaboule should have been dropped for Gardner instead of Dawsons :-

- Kaboule leaves Dawson stranded against Agboblahore

- Kaboule leaves Dawson stranded against Martins

- Kaboule leave Dawson stranded against Getafe player

Can you see a pattern emerging ?

Thats is not Jol's or Hughton's fault .

Since Gardner was stretchered off you are pretty much guaranteed your "Great defender" for the next month .

Spot on. He has a lot to learn - made quite a few mistakes last night. Yes, it's nice to see some football but I don't want to see it from a centre-back who's loosing the ball and conceding goals.

Kaboul if moved into midfield could become as good as viera was for the scum i think same sort of build and can run with the ball when needed

I agree Kaboul does not seem defensively minded always making runs forward and making mistakes at the back. When King returns - Kaboul for central midfield!

If he is to play on the pitch at all , anywhere , he has to show more discipline than he has shown the last month .

Good call!! I think Kabouls is much more suited to midfield than CB.

However the commentrary last night was really winding me up - everytime he got forward Pleat was practically blamming him for a problems in defense this season. We haven't conceeded a single goal this season because of Kaboul getting forward and i for one am happy that someone was showing some balls last night. He did the same against Villa and rescued a point for us!!!!

I can't help feeling that if Kaboul had been playing in midfield we would be reading threads about him making a great defender.

The point is surely this: that he is a very talented footballer, but is very immature, and clearly thinks he can play his way out of any situation, which he has to learn he can't. He could equally well sell us down the river if he were to be caught out, or out of position playing in midfield as in defence, as some of our real midfielders have already shown us on a number of occasions.

And Ivor Leftfoot would make a great LW

Tell us something we didn't know

made me chuckle

but have to agree with poster kaboul looks great in a midfield capacity, but he's awful defending, tries too many tricks gets into trouble, and he makes dawson not know whether he's coming or going, they blamed dawson for the second goal last night when it was quite clearly kabouls.

I can't help but think back to BAE...Kaboul is in a similiar situation and I don't know what backroom shennigans are involved that the Dawson+Kaboul partnership persisted when it was clear it wasn't working. Levy's policy of buying young talent has turned out to be a double-aged sword, it takes time to blood and evaluate the players and you don't throw them immediately into the deep end, much less expect nonsensical things like getting 4th in their first season.

I was fuming with Kaboul last night, what was with all the fancy footwork in like all the wrong areas. As a central defender he makes me feel very nervous. I know he’s young but at times his lack of positional awareness was Sunday league like at best…

kaboul and dawson are one of the worst pair of CBs in the Prem, perhaps the worst. Long term by all means let Kaboul try out for a mid role, but there's a game on sun and those two need to up their game considerably or else we're gonna still be in the bottom 3 come Monday morning

I don't say that Kaboul has not done any errors during his time at Spurs. He has done that for sure. BUT: The reason for Dawson and Kaboul's errors is not only their fault. It is also has to do with the tactical organisation of the team.

Jol has over and over again played a defensive line after a 1-0 lead, and that has led to that the opponent team's has had the chance to build up attacks after attacks. After giving the opponents chances after chances, it is only a matter of time when we will concede a goal. That has been the main problem all season. That is the reason why Jol is no longer at the Club.
