Everytime I see him in the middle of the park he looks pretty damn silky for a defender.

When King is back, I say why not?

i made this same point in DD's thread. His surging runs and fierce shots remind me of another converted defender Graham Roberts . Unfortunately there are no other options at CD unless Dervitte plays.

I'm pretty sure that this has come up a few times. I'm inclined to agree. I'd even say that it could be tried before Ledley gets back, maybe Gardner and Rocha/Dawson at CB with Kaboul and JJ at CM.

Any news on gardeners injury? Looking at his boots...No wonder he is injured. The cleat style high heels begs for a turned ankle.

Well, he looked semi-decent for the last 10 minutes when he played as a left-winger. Not entirely sure why he was needed by the corner-flag when the balls were being pumped into the middle, but at least he got the right end of the pitch.

Pretty much all our defenders would be better playing elsewhere (either in midfield or for another team). Problem is, in the absence of King, we don't have anyone who can actually defend apart from Lee and possibly Salty. It's going to be a long hard season.

Pleat was pissing me off last night, kept saying and here goes Kaboul on another run when he should pass it, FFS just let him get the ball forward, his defending though and to stop tracking the man for the second goal was awful last night!

When he pushed forward at the end of the second half we finally had some presence in the middle.

I have now decided that I dont care how young The Hudd is, he SIMPLY AINT GOOD ENOUGH - GET RID!

i'm hoping kaboul will start in midfield once ledly is back and can prove his fitness. However Kaboul's midfield partner NEEDS TO BE AN ALLROUND PLAY WHO IS ABLE TO PLAY PENETRATING PASSES TO OUR WINGERS AND STRIKERS.

Ruling out jenas, zokora nad huddlestone (the latter because his too fat for a premiership central midfielder)

He certainly shouldn't be playing as centre back until he learns a few basic lessons.

1. If in doubt, kick it out.
2. Don't dribble out of your own defence.
3. Don't bomb forward with no cover.
4. Don't just let an attacker go, and point at your mate to pick him up.
5. Be strong in the tackle.

I also believe Kaboul would be a great midfielder, but I also believe he is a great defender if the new management get the right tactical organisation. We conceded a lot of goals because of tactical errors, and that did not make it easy for the defence either.

Kaboul and Zokora in central midfield would be an interesting combination. I also would like to see Zokora and Boateng. Maybe even Ghaly will have a chance when the new management arrives.

It not the tactical structure he loses concentration all the time. It was his fault for there 2nd goal last night and he also gets caught in possession to much.
People say he can play as our DM, but what grounds do they base that judgement on, because he likes to get forward and is a defender? Kaboul needs to improve is concentration and positional play and he is only going to do that by playing at the back.

Interesting in the same way that someone pointing a gun in your face is interesting?
