Need to increase the intensity in the second half (seems to be a recurring theme).

We can't go flat out every game given the matches we have. Do you want us to be injury riddled?

Better passing should lead to less mistakes and more goals = foot off pedal. So that part sticks.

Funny how we all perceive football differently - and quixotically.

Everton; Europa first game and first half of the Southampton game had me in despair. I was genuinely thinking Mourinho should be sacked.

This first half I've found decent, Dele's been everywhere. Tanguy started really well before fading a bit but still building that fitness base. We got the early goal. Dele and Toby should have added more. We've looked in control and, apart from Davies and Aurier once each - haven't made horrendous mistakes in possession.

Yet looking at this match thread people are seeing something completely different. Apparently Dele's shit and lazy and not up for it. Winks (who is clearly doing what he's been told to by Mou) is getting slagged for never getting forward. Tanguy's fat and lazy and not up for it. Davies is shit.

The only players who haven't been slagged are Son (totally anonymous apart from the assist - won by Tanguy in reality) and Lamela - totally anonymous apart from the goal.

The lesson is it's safer from spurs fans in the match thread if you don't get near the ball. That way you aren't blamed for what's done with it.

Anyway - much improved Europa performance so far. COYS!

People think just because we're playing against fodder in the EL we should be walking this match - it doesn't work like that, I've noticed no one sets their expectations on here.

It's frustrating because the team is really playing within themselves and making the opposition look decent. I would much rather we kill games from the start and then follow that up with a boring 2nd half instead. We are one Sanchez or Aurier mistake away from having to actually try and win this game.

The Winks hate is also baffling. He's clearly restricted by role and instruction. And he does that fairly well.

There is a reason why both Poch and Mourinho play the guy. Fine - he aint Pirlo but the hate is wayy over the top.

He excels at nothing, if you're going to have a DM/Deepest CM that is one of the weakest footballers in the history of the world and has no tackling ability. You'd expect his passing to be out of this world and creating a tempo and pushing us forward. I still can't believe some were up in arms we might sell him to City for 40m, i'd take 20m for him.

I'd love to line up to a CM with him in it every week.
