I'm pretty sure they already have Alex Sandro & Luca Pellegrini filling in at that position, so unless they feel they need to part ways with one of them, then this is a non-starter.

I really can't see who would sign him.

Moving him back to left wing maybe... shite all over Douglas Costa .

He'd hate it there , probably the most racist country in western Europe
Crazy that this is the case and quite rightly will probably factor into his decision making if the story has any truth to it.

The article states that "he is considered to have his best days behind him", really? I think he is still one of the best players in his position in the Premier league, and I will be sorry to see him leave.

True but that doesn't really counter the original statement.

I think this racism in Italy is overblown, never been mind, but I've met a fair few in London. To a man lovely people. My old neigbours were Roman. Brilliant people, and so laid back.
My partents neighbours are three young Italian ladies. Fabulous girls. Always bringing food and what not. Seem very family oriantated. They are from Sicily if that makes a difference.
Maybe the police are less strict regarding racist abuse in the stands.
NB. My family isn't white

True but that doesn't really counter the original statement.
The statement is: "Rose has turned 29 and his best days are considered to be behind him". Stating that Danny Rose as a matter of fact is over the top and on a declining curve. Which on so many levels is - matter of fact - wrong.

He had some serious injury problems as well as more personal/mental issues to struggle with, and on top of that most likely some problems with the club/managmenet after "that" interview. For a good season, season and a half, he was far from his best.

But one has to be quite "anti-Rose" to not admit that in the latter half of last season he was more or less back to his former top level. When Poch keeps him on the pitch to play defensive midfield several times it says not only something about how injury stricken we were but also the amount of trust he has in Rose.

29 is not "old" in modern sports. The sports science when it comes to training, resting, nutrition, medivcal support, etc has made giant leaps over the last two decades. Besides injuries, there´s really the single athlete´s mind that decides when he is too "old". Look at Federer in tennis (38 this August), Brady in NFL (42 in August), Ronaldo (turned 34 this year), and the plethora of players well into their mid- and late thirties in the NHL.

Conclusion: Peter O´Rourke is an old, low level kind of journo hack that is ready for retirement. Or just a git.

You can't really argue that though Rose's best days are behind him, even the 2nd half of last season he didn't reach the levels of 2015/16 and before he got injured in Jan 2017.

Comparing anyone to Ronaldo is a bit silly, the guy is an absolute freak, most players who rely on their athleticism decline in their latter years.

To be fair though the racist ones are probably far less likely to move abroad.

I'm sure the vast majority aren't racist at all. The problem is the ones that are sure do make it known, and footbalers are a target they plough into on a regular basis.

"the blame is 50-50" - Bonucci.
I wonder if Rose would see it that way. I think he should steer well clear of all that.
Italy is close to becoming a fascist state.
