Will be interesting to see if he can revive Dier’s fortunes!

I have no idea. I'm somewhat confused about this "updated, inspired and motivated" Mourinho. I don't foresee how it actually will translate into reality. Without that, I would guess on a clean 433.

José doesnt like his teams to be weak so starting out away in a big London Derby I think he'll go 433 and solid as possible.

Gazzaniga
Aurier - Toby - Sanchez - Davies
Sissoko - Dier - Ndombele
Lucas - Kane - Son

Bench
Vorm
Foyth
Sessegnon
Winks
Lo Celso
Dele
Parrott

Can anyone with a better memory than me recall if he's ever slated any of our existing players whilst doing punditry for Sky or any other broadcaster? Might give us an idea where a few of the lads stand.

I definitely see Dier coming in.
I said after the Red Star game (1st game), we actually looked better once Dier came on, inspite of the score.

The gap between Defence and Midfield was one that invited pressure, Dier plugged that and I really believe that is how Mourinho will set up. BUT Dier will have to cut out that one lazy ass backwards pass he has in him per match!

Sissoko I think will be the one to drop and be backup to Dier or Ndombele. I also see Toby coming back into the fold.

More importantly it will be interesting to see what happens with Eriksen and Dele. Both have been poor this season for different reasons, though Dele has shown signs he maybe turning a corner.

Biggest losers for me, though not this weekend will be wing backs and GK. I have a funny feeling that a new Keeper might be JM's first signing (I am not against Hugo one bit, but with injury and erratic passing, I could see JM wanting a repelacement).

Is what I think he'll go for.

I can fully see Mourinho shipping Eriksen out as a priority in January, so he'll see getting Dele playing for him more of a priority.

Rose over Davies because Davies had an exhilarating fixture last night for Wales and also Rose is a key senior member of the squad who Jose will want to get on side especially given his propensity to gob off to the media and sow seeds of discord.

My sense is that Poch's loyalty to the 'contract rebels' for want of a better term was part of the problem at the end (secondarily to results) so im guessing they wont feature and thus we see something like:-

Gazza
Foyth Dier Sanchez Davies
Sissoko Ndombele
Sonny Dele LoC
Kane

I imagine negotiations have been going on a few days minimum, in which time I bet him and his team have spent a lot if time thinking about it. As for what it will be, no idea but can't wait to see.

Does he try and appease the fans by leaving out Eriksen, Toby and Rose, or does he appease the players and give them a fresh start despite many I suspect still wanting out at the end of the season? Over to you Jose!

One thing I am certain is that we are not going to see Eriksen in the starting line up. Mourinho singled out Eirksen months ago (a few others but their names escape me now) that he might be the reason for the lack of chemistry we were seeing on the pitch.

I think it’ll be 433, defence first but enough pace out wide to counter and supply (think how much joy he had with Robben and Duff). I also wouldn’t write off Winks for his slight stature as he works his nuts off. I’d not be shocked to see:

Gazzaniga
Foyth Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier
Winks Ndombele
Lo Celso ________________ Son
Kane

I think in all likelihood it’ll be Sissoko over Winks and Dele over Lo Celso, but stylistically the above matches quite closely to his first Chelsea side.

Personally, I don’t overly care as long as we’ve got cohesion, fight and energy.
