Personally I’d have started with Ndombele, Sissoko and Lo Celso in CM and Toby and Sanchez at CB. I wouldn’t have had Winks, Dele or Dier anywhere near the starting XI based purely on form.

If it's based on form why are you picking Ndombele or Lo Celso and picking Sissoko?

Toby I thought struggles to play back to back games and we have to manage his minutes, seems a perfect time to rest him in a tie where we are 2-0 up? I mean the other day people were having a go at Jose for overplaying Son.

I think you're just using the benefit of hindsight, I watched that game and the players we had out there had more than enough ability to see the game out.

Give Jose the summer to get rid of any dead wood that doesn’t have the right attitude. Let him bring in the players he believes can make a difference and if we are still playing like this next season than we can talk about the sack. Klopp had 5 years to change Liverpool around. It also took pep two years before we saw what city can become. If we sack Jose I can see Kane wanting to go as well as Son. There is also a good chance the new manager will want to assess the team so that means the likes of Dier, Winks, Davies even Dele and Sissoko will have a new temporary lease of life delaying the inevitable. It will be interesting to see what happens from now until the end of the season as he can play his core 11 without switching too much.

I find it funny a lot of clubs down the country wants a culture change at their but don't have the stomachs for it

De Boer was signed for Crystal Palace to bring in a youth movement and a new attacking style of play. Sacked after 5 games as they were losing and the youth team was beating the first team

We got Mourinho and he hasn't even had a full season here. We want a culture change to be winners but dont want to go through the work to get there.

We have been in this cycle of being close of achieving something for years and in reality always we haven't even been close to being the maid of honour let alone the bride

We have had these players at spurs and not won one thing

Tbf i don’t think you need to concede the player power point. The managers core job is to get the most out of the players at his disposal. If personal pride were enough you wouldn’t hire a manager. Just get the chairman to select some players and their personal pride will get results.

If a manager cannot get the best out of the players, including keeping them motivated towards a common goal, then he has failed at his job. Nothing else matters with respect to the manager.

Spot on. We can argue/discuss until the cows come home about the players, their attitudes and motivations and in some cases total lack of ability, but the fact of the matter is even disregarding all of that, Jose has failed plain and simple. He has failed to get good enough results, he has failed to implement a clear tactical identity, he has failed with his team selections, he has never settled on a clear CB partnership, he has generally failed to get good performances. He has failed to get the best out of the players with a few notable exceptions. He has failed to see us challenge for top 4 bar a miracle. Failed to challenge the FA Cup and Europa League.

The season is a disaster basically.

Well according to this article and lloris all but said it in his post match interview some players are not happy with rotation and are therefore not performing when they're given a chance. Winks, sissoko, dele, Dier all spring to mind just for starters.

That was a valid point when we still had the Europa in our sights. None of us realistically think we’ll be turning City over in the final and nothing, absolutely zero points to us turning our league form around to challenge for a top four place. None of the teams above us look like they’re dwindling. Can’t see how it makes any difference now to him being here or not tbh.

This is where i current sit with our current situation, where in my opinion it is clear that points 1-3 need to happen, and point 4 is optional.

1. We need to sell the bad apples, players no longer putting in effort for various reasons and have been with the club for too long
2. We need to buy 1-2 players, key areas like a CB
3. We need a DoF
4. A New Manager
5. Keeping Kane/Son

Now if we were to get a new manager before points 1 and 2, with the payoff in sacking Mourinho, this will impact point 2, where in a market that is already going to be a tight one new manager or no manager.

The worry in getting a new manager now, or the end of the season, would be just like Mourinho thought when he came in, that on paper we have good players. So the new manager comes in, and gives players that fall into Point 1 category a fresh start. This then sees an upturn of these players desire, however when the inevitable decisions are made, and these are started to be dropped, their roles within the squad will revert to where it has been for Poch and Mourinho, and 6-12 months down the line in the same situation.

Point 5 is complex, however it should be taken into consideration. I’m sure Kane/Son know aswell as us, that there are issues to be addressed i.e. points 1 and 2, and probably want these addressed first before going through any further managerial changes, to satisfy them to stay. For example, if they are in the opinion that if another manager comes in, They’re done with any further changes and rebuilds, this would immediately be a trigger point to start voicing about leaving. However if there are signs of the main issues being addressed, and then seeing how these have changed or not changed in our performances, next season, at least they can see we have tried under current management, and likely to be in more agreement in applying a managerial change. Whether what we have started/achieved in points 1 and 2 and whoever comes in next, would be a better sway within their understanding on whether there’s progress to be made here or their careers lie elsewhere.

For me, the bigger picture is Points 1 and 2 are priorities in the summer, point 1 more so than 2. Our current management know this, and I would prefer them to certainly oversee point 1 rather than a new manager having time to find this out. Levy would not go and start this without a new managers say so, regardless of what previous management said. This is why I think we stick with the manager to oversee this, and in October if still not working, point 4 is still there to be applied, however we would be in a much better position as a squad, because Points 1 and 2 hopefully would have been addressed to the best of what we could have started/achieved, and also October, the season is still very early and the season is salvageable.

Yes, I know people are unhappy where we are right now, I am too, however we all need to think that larger issues are at play here, that is and will affect any manager, and the consequences it would be in not addressing these as priority and we prioritise sacking the manager.
It is also not much of a compromise though, if people are adamant about Mourinho, that he is the issue or he is not going to be successful with us, October is not far away in the grand scene of things, and he would be gone by then. This then leaves any new manager with a better scenario because points 1 and 2 have hopefully had some dents into them in the summer, and hopefully Kane/Son can see progression.

Sorry for the ramble, hope I have kinda explained myself where I sit at the minute with the situation. Key for me, Mourinho or no Mourinho, there are 4 points to address, or take into consideration, and would benefit us more as a club due to all the factors involved.

We may see the fruits of what most of us hoped we would be getting with Mourinho if key points addressed, or come early doors in the season it’s not still working, we can still get a new manager, but he is given a better platform to pick us up from with less issues, improved areas by us starting what’s needed on the points I have put.

No, if personnel are not performing, them individuals go on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan), which is the first step for any disciplinary action. If the personnel doesn’t meet the objectives of that PIP that individual will then get a written warning, followed by dismissal if still improvement is not met by the objectives outlined in the PIP.

The manager is not accountable for individuals lack of individual performance, a manager is rated on the objectives set by its own manager and performance of the team.

Speaking as an employment lawyer, this a pretty narrow way of looking at it. If one person is underperforming, sure.

But in practice, if an entire team is underperforming, you don't put all of them on performance management. You look at the manager first.
